  1. There's some markings on it but a lot of it is rubbed off. Is it not a part that's on all p15's? The heating elements are not heating.
  2. Not a signal flasher. It's attached to the fuel gauge.
  3. It's either a resister, capacitor, or transistor. Round and red.
  4. What is the round thing wired into the dash unit? And how do you test it?
  5. Young ed. Would you remember the part number of that cv boot? and was it a split boot?
  6. Has anyone had any luck getting the boots on without removing the pin?
  7. What if you hook it to a 12 volt battery. I have 2 12 volt lawn batteries to run my 12 volt radio.
  8. Is it at all possible to use a 12 volt fuel gauge in a 7 volt system?
  9. Change in status. Took out the drive shaft. Started the car. No noise. That narrows it down to u joints or rear end. Took u joints apart. One boot had a split. I just changed that one a year ago.so I'll rework the u joints again. I hope the rear end isn't the problem.
  10. Come on guys. Tell me something.
  11. I've got her up off the ground. I start it up and go through the gears. Third gear is making all kinds of noise. Is the transmission toast?
  12. Now I'm thinking I may have broken a tooth on the third gear. I was coming up a slight grade in third gear and lugging a bit.
  13. It felt like th general area of the transmission. I'm thinking maybe u joint.
  14. While driving home from an errand, on a clear road something on my p15 went bang. There was nothing in the road. The car kept driving like nothing happened. I went back to make sure I didn't hit something and the road. I looked all around the car. Nothing seemed to be amiss. It still drove ok. I expected to see something hanging underneath. Any ideas?
  15. I went ahead and ordered a new sending unit from AB just to eliminate that as the problem. It seems to me the bottom of the unit is constantly soaked in fuel. Couldn't be good for it.
  16. Should probably just keep the tank full.
  17. Bouncing around. I took the sending unit out took it apart. First I tested the resistance. Moving the float made the reading erratic. I took it apart to see if anything was amiss. It's a very simple design. A pointer tab contacts a coil winding as the float level changes. My problem now is the gauge is at three fourth tank and other than fluctuating up and down the level is staying at 3 quarter. I know I'm not getting that much mileage.

    Heat

I have quite a lot of heat coming through the firewall and floorboards. Is there some kind of insulation I can get for the firewall to help this?
  19. Found the problem. Loose connection at the tank. At least I hope that's all it was.
  20. My fuel gauge was reading a fourth of a tank yesterday as I ran out of gas. Any ideas?
  21. I'm still 6 volt and yes I have the brake lights to the circuit.
  22. It's the right fuse. It generally blows about once a year. Took some doing to find the right fuse.
  23. Why does the switch get hot enough to blow the fuse anyway?
  24. Would appreciate knowing step by step this process.
  25. are they all a direct bolt on and linkage like I would need?
