  1. It has a one-piece windshield. Was it made that way? It may have been. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find out it did.
  2. I used friction tape. It stays where you put it until you tighten the bolts.
  3. Probably a good idea, I don't trust him either.
  4. I vote for bad points or gap, too.
  5. Same here. Sharpies have enough color but not so much that it will stop the light.
  6. Yes, its true, our P-15's have a zero pressure cooling system. You'll find a tube running from the top of the radiator tank down the side and open to the atmosphere. That way, no matter what kind of cap you may put on it, there will be no pressure build-up.
  7. Don, I have no idea how its done, nor do i want to know. One of my daughters-in-law, whom I trust, told me that fact the last time I saw her. She's usually pretty knowedgable about stuff so I automatically believe her. Thats because she's way smarter than me too. Anyway, She spent a year in Taiwan teaching English and claimed that the Chinese consider them a delicacy, especially if they are American chicken feet. Ha. Where did this thread start? And how far off track can it get?
  8. Indiana is the largest shipper of chicken feet. They go to the Orient. Can you imagine a more disgusting shipment? What a great job packing chicken feet must be.
  9. Yes, his name was Marion and he wore high heels.
  10. Very important question; would that be a left foot or a right foot?
  11. I think thats a good suggestion, but you could use the hole in the head over #6 to get a pretty good idea of where TDC really is. Mark your pulley there and you've got a useful starting point.
  12. David, I am very sorry to hear about your son, I cannot imagine your grief. It's apparent that he loved you very much by what he did for you. You have to enjoy your car now knowing that is what he wanted. I cannot tell you how sorry I feel for you. Remember and focus on the good times.
  13. Just another successful flathead running again, eh?
  14. I can only try to tell you how I do it. Warmed up, running at idle with both mixture screws out 1 1/2 to 2 turns, Turn one screw out a turn or more to make sure its running rich enough and then turn it in until you hear and feel the slightest drop in rpm's. Turn it back out until you get the rpm's back, and then do the same with the other screw. Go back and recheck the first one to make sure you can't gain any more rpm's by making it richer. If you use a tach, it may be easier. Drive it. Feel for hesitation on light throttle take-off. If so, back each screw out 1/4 turn and try again. Repeat if needed. It's much easier for me to do it than to explain it. Hope this helps.
  15. Flathead valve guides are bronze, I believe. At least they break like bronze when I knock them out the wrong way! Cast iron guides are for SBC's, not real motors.
  16. Great, now I'm seven times as jealous as I was. You must be one happy guy. Thats a nice car show in your own driveway.
  17. Fred, when you put your top man on the job, you can't go wrong. Congrats!
  18. Life is good, Eh?
  19. Go with the yodeling thing, that way the neighbors will chip in and get you a new radio.
  20. Good idea on the duct tape. For a second there I thought I saw Red Green.
  21. Don, it is my understanding that now the dogs are actually owned by the track and trained by employees. It's big business gone to the dogs.
  22. This just in, Max may wake up sometime this week. It's hard to believe he can do 40MPH.
  23. Randroid, it may be a rant to you, but to me its an education. I don't know what goes on behind the kitchen doors it's good to hear the truth from someone that does. Take a pill and rant on...... I'm listening.
  24. A boxer wouldn't be a boxer if it grew out of the puppy stage. They just go from being a little kid to being a bigger little kid. Fun is their reason for living.
  25. I heard a rumor a couple weeks ago that Illinois is closing one or more dog tracks and there will be many more dogs up for adoption. Just in case you were thinking about it.
