  1. Tried adding a link to youtube video but can't. Check out Transmission Shift Linkage Kit Installed - Chevy C10. By Gibson63. Same idea but on a truck. I have seen this done on early Mopars but I couldn't find any pictures.
  2. I have seen several people hook up the automatic linkage to one of the stock column shift levers. Have you considered that?
  3. Hey Sam. I just followed the link to your previous post about not being to get any pedal. Is it possible that the push rod didn't have enough travel into the new master cylinder? Just a thought.
  4. Nothing better than the whole family being involved. The dog even seems to like it.
  5. I'm going to replace the stock master cylinder on my 47 Plymouth. I have disc brakes on the front and stock rear. I intend to remove the guts from the stock master and run a longer push rod to a master cylinder behind the stock one. I know several people have already done this. My question is what did you use for the longer push rod? I saw someone had used "all thread" steel rod, but I'm not sure if that would be strong enough. I'm afraid it could bend under pressure.
  6. Just to note, 46 came with white reflectors and 47-48 came with the red reflectors.
  7. I've seen people replace the missing reflectors with Blue Dots if you aren't concerned with keeping it original, I kinda like how they look. As mentioned you can find them on Ebay sometimes but very expensive. I think the replacement LED lights and housings from Technostalgia might be an option. I have them on my 47 Plymouth. Part #6046
  8. I always liked the Ranchero's. I had a 59 and would like to find a solid 58.
  9. That stuff doesn't have a very long shelf life. Looks like it expired 10 years ago.
  10. Have you made anymore progress with the car?
  11. I used JB Weld on a pick up truck with the tank in the cab (behind the seat). It would leak where the filler neck met the tank. No problem after using the JB Weld on it. Nothing more discouraging than buying a new part and having a problem with it.
  12. He should have called the police when he saw them trying to load it on a trailer.
  13. The Fatman kit originally used the Datsun outer tie rod ends. It was later recommended to use Explorer outer ends. I think 2002. They were stronger and easier to get.
  14. I was curious and clicked on the link. They aren't 22.00 anymore. 25.99 now.
  15. Looking at the picture, the brake line looks a little close to the left rear shock. Might be better between the shock and frame . Just a thought.
  16. A better solution might be a 2 groove water pump pulley if you are using the narrow belt now.
  17. Cable linkage sounds about the easiest.
  18. It looks to me like the pulley slipped rearward on the hub. It looks like the hub is sticking out about 3/16's farther than the pulley. I think they started using the narrow belt in the early 50's.
  19. Just read this thread from start to finish. I would question whether ignition timing being incorrect would cause this problem or possibly an exhaust restriction or stuck heat riser. Just my 2 cents.
  20. The amount of vacuum should be the same regardless of being plumbed from one carb or two. I'd run it from one carb and block off the port on the other.
  21. I can't say for certain if these were dealer installed or not. There are a lot of these Arvin heaters around, some have studs that mount them and others, like mine that have threaded sleeves around the core outlets to mount it. The other styles of heaters I've seen have been Mopar branded. There is one similar to the Arvin but more square and the one like Nick has in his firewall pic. The one in Nicks picture is the same style used for the dual heater set up which intended for colder climates or the larger cars.
  22. They used several different heaters in these cars. You could also get dual heaters, with one on the drivers side. The dual heater cars had vents in the cardboard kick panels.
  23. There aren't any controls except the switch on the front. The 3 vents are open for heat and closed for defrost. Keep in mind you won't get the same amount of air flow to the defroster as a modern car.
  24. Same heater I have in my 47. Looks like you are missing the attachments for the defroster hoses to the dash vents.
