  1. Look inside of the socket and see if it has a single or dual contact.
  2. Is it just me or does the rear wheel look too far forward in the fender opening?
  3. Special Deluxe had chrome trim, the Deluxe didn't.
  4. See Ebay item #'s 331382050975 or 310978872506. Note: I haven't tried this myself but it does seem likely that it would work.
  5. You can buy aftermarket trans mounts for GM automatic transmissions that bolt to the transmission bell housing bolts. These are designed for 55-57 Chevy's with the original front engine mounts to allow use of a later model automatic without a rear cross member. These new trans mounts bolt up to the 55-57 frame the same way the stock bell housing mounts did. It is my understanding that these mounts could be attached to the stock 46-48 Plymouth trans cross member but new holes would need to be drilled. Final result, front mounted Chevy motor, later automatic bolted at the bell housing and stock cross member without removing the stock cross member and weakening the structural integrity of the stock frame.
  6. Thanks guys.
  7. I recently acquired inside visors for my 47 Plymouth Deluxe. When I purchased the car it didn't have visors and the headliner was replaced so there aren't any holes in it to indicate where the visors mount. Does anyone have an idea of how I can determine where they mount or maybe a picture of the location? A picture without the headliner might be helpful. Thanks in advance.
  8. I converted my 47 Plymouth to 12 volt about 12 years ago. I installed the Runtz voltage reducer on my gas gauge. The gauge quit working after about a week, the Runtz reducer died. I eliminated it from the system. Gas gauge has been operating off of 12 volts ever since. No problem.
  9. If the fan is hitting the radiator only on hard stops, is the radiator loose and moving a little or do you have a worn or broken motor mount? I would try to find out whats causing the lack of clearance when stopping and then you might not need the electric fan. Just my 2 cents.
  10. Would one from a D24 work? I think I read somewhere that the Dodges were 1 wire.
  11. So.....it's based on the number of likes you have? Just curious because I never noticed that before.
  12. Thanks Don, I feel much better now. Lol. Couldn't help but notice you have a 2,171.
  13. Ok, So I just noticed a number under my user name. When I clicked on it it said Community Reputation. What exactly is that? I've been coming to this site for almost 20 years and I only have a 26. I'm guessing 26 isn't very good. Have I been naughty? Do I need to go sit in the corner with a dunce cap on? Has everyone except me realized I'm lacking in social skills? Lol
  14. I have read a lot of feedback on the Cavilier rack and pinion conversion, mostly about the increase in turning radius. The solution seems to be to shorten the steering arms. I remember someone mentioning some time ago about moving the steering arm forward on the spindle so that the rear arm hole bolts to the front spindle hole, thus decreasing the length of the arm. Has anyone done this modification successfully? Is the steering arm then only secured by the 1 bolt? Any input will be appreciated. Pictures are always helpful and cool too.
  15. Just curious. Why are you taking pictures inside your BMW?
  16. I've seen it on Ebay a couple of times.
  17. I just looked that up. Pretty expensive radiator 420.00 in aluminum and over 500.00 for copper brass.
  18. I was just on Speedways website. I didn't see any brackets specifically for 46-48 Plymouth. Only Ford & Chevy.
  19. Those new wheels look like they are 14's. Maybe a 15 would clear. What is hub centric?
  20. I must have it, what rear end are you using?
  21. I have had my front springs out a couple of times. The top of the spring also has to fit properly into the frame.
  22. A great find. Thanks again.
  23. Your's looks like it is new.
  24. Thanks Donald. That's exactly what I had in mind. I've seen these before but without the nozzle or the part running to it. I imagine something could be pieced together, maybe even with an electric pump. But I think the nozzle will be a problem.
