  1. Never mind the Asian women, what about my Trico Fan?
  2. I want to replace the outer stabilizer bar bushings on my 47 Plymouth. Does anyone know of a source for these or something that can be substituted?I checked Bernbuam and Roberts, no luck.
  3. First thing that out of place to me were the headlight trim rings.
  4. Is anyone here using a Trico vacuum operated fan? I picked one up used a couple of years ago but never installed it. I did hook it up to a vacuum port on my engine to test it. Fan works, but I noticed a change in how my engine ran, this didn't seem normal. I disconnected the fan and plugged the line on my engine and it smoothed out. Anyone else experienced that?
  5. I just typed in rear axle upgrade and all I got was Adams post from above.
  6. I'm running the Technostalgia lights on my 47 Plymouth. They come with a wiring diagram. I did it when they first came out so I don't remember how I wired them. But I do have 3 brake lights and turn signals. The fender lights flash 3 times when the brake is applied then stay on. My car is also 12 volt.
  7. Yes it should. Why did you spray primer on everything?
  8. Is it possible the new shocks don't have enough travel? Also, I would think shocks from a motor home would be a lot stiffer than pick up shocks.
  9. Looks good. How much did they cost?
  10. Bummer. Lol
  11. I want one!
  12. Do you have any pictures of how you hooked up the tv cable?
  13. Interior was redone when I got the car about 12 years ago. My concern is not with saving the windlace as much as replacing it with something else.
  14. I'm getting annoyed with the windlace in my 47 P15 2dr sedan. Anytime I go to get something out of the back seat it pulls loose. Is there a modern substitute for it? I have seen some newer cars that had a plastic or hard rubber channel instead.
  15. I've always liked the 55 Plymouths. Thought it was one of the best body styles they made. I'd love to have a 55 Plymouth 2dr. wagon. But you hardly ever see them. Good luck with it.
  16. I like the wheel & tire combo. What sizes are you using.
  17. I have read that the straight 6 Jeep engine is considerably longer than the flathead.
  18. Well James, I knew it was going to happen as soon as I saw your reference to SBC, that you would get flack from Mopar purists. It's your car, if you want to put a lawn mower motor it in go for it. A guy around here has a 50 Desoto with a 350 in it. He has mounts that run from the radiator support and are connected to 55-57 Chevy mounts attached to the front of the block. It's my understanding Hurst made a mount kit for 46-48 Plymouth and Dodge that was based on this same set up. He has a 350 trans and stock steering also. In the 50s-60s people were putting Cadillac and Oldsmobile engines or Hemis in everything and no one cared.
  19. When I went 12 volts on my 47 Plymouth I used the Runtz voltage reducer on my fuel gauge. It worked fine for 3 days then the gauge quit working. Pulled the Runtz out and it looked like it shorted out. Ran straight 12 volts to the gauge and its been fine for about 8 years now. I would never buy another of those Runtz.
  20. I read somewhere that someone used the Great Stuff foam and filled the coils.
  21. My 47 Plymouth Deluxe will start off of the key or button. Ignition switch has a start position or I can just turn it to on and use the button. A 48 Plymouth Special Deluxe I had would only start off of the button.
  22. Whats going on with that? Sears only sold Craftsman tools. Now Ace Hardware sells Craftsman also, and not just hand tools. Mowers and snow blowers too.
  23. I knew that. But I still ain't feelin it.
  24. No Don, I think you spelled that wrong. Isn't is supposed to be BozoMobile. Lol. I'm sure somewhere there is a Gang Banger or Pimp that would love to have it. Personally I think Anything over an 18" wheel looks silly. I would pay the asking price on the Olds if it didnt have those silly wheels and tires, if it were not painted that stupid green, and if it were not an Oldsmobobble.
  25. You are right Don. I think I first started coming to this site in 1999-2000, even though it now shows 2006. I know the chain and gears wouldn't solve any of the other problems, just from past practice when you are that far into something you replace whats bad. Since I started coming to this forum I have had a 48 Plymouth 2 Dr. Sedan, a 54 Plaza 2 Dr Wagon and for the past 11 years the 47 Plymouth 2 Dr Sedan. I have to say Don, that you have always kinda been my idol. You saw your project through from start to finish, managed to take pictures of just about everything imaginable and have pretty much driven your car all over the country. I remember when you pioneered the T5 swap and how upset you were when someone was trying to profit off of your design (bell housing I believe). My hats off to you. I have also followed Bill Storys build. Great car.
