  1. If anyone wants more info about the 1946-48 Dodge 4dr Sedan diecast model car that was pictured on this forum, I asked about it on the Spotlight Hobbies Message Board tonight and got a couple of replys, one by Tom Carter with the full details of these models.......go to the Spotlight Hobbies website at www.spotlighthobbies.com and click on the Message Board link.......some interesting info, andyd
  2. Heres a pic of my Australian 40 Dodge sedan & Sth African 41 Plymouth Coupe........andyd
  3. Reg.........tell ya what, seeing as you got one of them coupes without all the correct number of windows, I'll take it off your hands, can you send it down to a mate in L.A.?......lol.........thats a seriously nice mopar, is it still 6volts?.....can't offer much in the way of a suggestion apart from your mention of the regulator, strange tho' that it started fine then decided to give up the ghost......real nice car anyway........do you want my mates address?.........lol.......andyd
  4. I am running 1956 Ford front springs in my 1940 Oz Dodge(Plymouth chassis)........they have been in it for about 20yrs now, think I cut one coil, they were slightly thicker from memory........andyd
  5. I'd like to know about a brass water tube for a 23" block..........still gotta get the old one out but trying to think postive.........lol....andyd
  6. Bear Crap?...............lol..........thanks a lot........lol.........this aussie has just peed hisself.......lol.......luckily we only have kangaroos around here.....like large amounts of rabbit poop.......lol..........bears......lol..........if nothing else this forum is educational........lol....andyd
  7. Brandon...........I have been trying on & off over the past few mths to get a water tube outa a 230 engine thats on an engine stand.........have used various methods.........without success.........have you ever given any thought to visiting Australia?.........lol........tho' I must admit I haven't tried sticking a piece of flat bar down the centre of the tube...........will give it a whirl this weekend......thanks, andyd
  8. JIPJOBXX..........lol...........that made me smile......wish there was a similar thing around here........our old cars sure do have a few grease nipples...........eerr zerks.......andyd
  9. Mopar RHD trucks may have had a foot starter, to be honest I have never noticed if they had, in fact rhd mopar trucks are not that common, but will check next time I see one, but all the Oz cars I have seen all had the separate key ignition then dash mounted starter button.......no need for that 3rd foot.......lol......andyd
  10. Merle, thats what has me wondering.........you yanks have three feet?.........lol.........andyd
  11. Funny thing is that all RHD mopars never have used the floor starter switch, our cars up to the mid 50's when the key starter came in used a key ignition switch with a nice chromed button on the rh side of the dash, above the choke/throttle buttons.......yrs ago when I 1st got into mopars I couldn't work out what you yanks were talking about regarding a "foot" starter switch.......regards, andyd
  12. Are you 6 or 12volt?...............lol........keep taking tha meds........lol.......andyd
  13. Don.......take ya meds..........lol.......that steering problem sholud be o/k with the later, say 49 onwards as the colum is a different angle, but for cars up to 48 the steering box lives between the oil & fuel pumps.......right where the front header/split manifold dumps.......as least for my 1941 Plymouth........andyd
  14. Thanks guys, my 230 arrived partially disassembled, all valves in a box, have done the odd OHV engine and used the standard G shaped compressor but was unsure whether it would work o/k as I have not played with a sidey, so will see if a borrowed G style will work........thanks again......andyd
  15. There are a pair of valve spring compressors on ebay at present, am curious as to what sort people use.....any info appreciated.......thanks, andyd
  16. Powerhouse.......these are weber carbys?......do you know what model number?.......am curious as they appear to be similar to what was used on Australian 1980's Ford Falcons, the Oz weber number was ADM01......is there anything like that on the carby?.......thanks, andyd
  17. Just would like to acknowledge Jeff Pierson from whom I purchased a sun visor, it arrived yesterday, exactly as described, very well packed in a study box, sent from Massachusetts to Sth Grafton NSW Australia........I'm a happy camper.......I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone........he apparently is still trying to sell a 48 Plymouth 4dr........anyway thanks again Jeff.....Andy Douglas
  18. Original or not, thats a well done dash, even has a/c vents, he's taken the time to make a chromed panel to install the GPS also for the guages, thats a neat setup, not stock, but its something that mother mopar may have done if the technology was availble back then......full credit to him.......andyd
  19. Congratulations, it looks a nice job, I like the red rims, always good to see another on the road........andyd
  20. Don.......o/k, heres what we'll do, feel like another trip to Oz?.........we'll all chip in and lease you out amongst us aussies ........lol.......only thing we might be a little short o funds......you prefer deck cargo or a wing(strapped to it) seat.........lol.........and if any kiwis chip in we might be able to throw in a cut lunch..........lol.......such a deal......but seriously tho, was good to speak to you yesterday, answered a few questions that I had.........will keep in touch.......many thanks & regards, Andyd
  21. We have plenty of termites downunder, little mongrels have had a feed in my garage, so I'll take a few woodpeckers if you want to send them down here........lol.....andyd
  22. Dennis and Don.......it worked, thanks........Don, any chance I could phone you?.......have a couple of questions re the gearbox installation & I talk better than I type......lol.......andyd
  23. Thats a damn nice car, real credit to you and the guys building it, hope my engine turns out as nice.....andyd
  24. Don, still can't see the links, maybe its a downunder thing........lol.......James, thanks for that info, I thought thats what they were, but without a pic or being able to see them in an S10 i was guessing, the way that don did his adaption using plates, and welding ears on the bellhousing would also reduce the distance the input shaft needs to fit up to the spigot bush......all good info...........thanks, andyd
  25. Don...........that was quick!......what link tho'?..........yeh these rods are some sort of bracing from the bellhousing to under the gearbox, weird....have never seen them.......I intended to get an adapter from Paul Curtis.......any info would be helpful......thanks, andyd
