  1. Well, for what its worth, I obtained one of the Langdons HEI Distributors for my 41 Plymouth and its the best thing I've done for it, starts virtually instantly, no winding over and over, seems to run better, I would thoroughly recommend this item........tho' I know some guys in the US don't think much of Tom Langdon he was helpful and courteous to me, I'm in Australia......and yep its only suitable to a 12volt negative earth system..........andyd
  2. Traindriva...where are you?........depending on the state you live in what you want to do may not be as easy as you think, subframes are not generally approved in Oz without major engineer involvement............there are plenty of ways to update your car without subframes........andyd.....oh and heres my 1940 Dodge thats had a V8 etc in it since 1973......and no subframe........andyd
  3. Fred...bet your appraiser's Chryslers don't have a whisker trim thats been around the world......lol...........andyd
  4. GREAT!!!!!...........just what I needed.......a Hemi Headed 6...........there goes the other gonad!!!.........lol...........now all I need is for there to be a DOHC Mopar 6 head & I'm left with nothing to trade..........says he in his high pitched squeaky voice..........lol.........andyd
  5. Don, yes and no......its a crossflow in the sense that the intake is on the US Drivers side into the cylinder head thru the new overhead valvetrain but the exhaust is still thru the standard location side valves in the block on the US passenger side, a crossflow but not as most are known........I'd still consider donating a gonad for the setup........gotta make use of them somehow........lol......andy(sqeaky voice)d
  6. If I win lotto, then I'll become Earl's best customer........to paraphase a famous saying........." A Finned Head on every Mopar 6 and an Overdrive Gearbox behind them all!".........this is my pledge to you, fellow Mopar Maniacs...........lol........gunna go take me meds now......lol........andyd
  7. Yep, thats Earl Edgertons conversion..........I win lotto and I'll buy meself a few of them heads........yum...........now if only I could win lotto...........andyd
  8. Ben, I heard about using the Holden intakes yrs ago, probably when I was 1st playing with the dodge in about 1971, but never did it myself, stuck the 318Poly in and when that way, but I have seen a couple over the yrs that used the aftermarket holden intakes as up till the internet arrived we in Oz never really had the general access to the range of US intakes etc that were available.......from memory you have to fiddle with the way the Holden intake sits against the block, the "ears" that stick out beside the intake manifold where it touches the block have to be modified/have some extra washers etc used to aligne with the exhaust manifold and as I mentioned the carby angle is no go unless you have the carby mounting flange on the intake surfaced to the new angle or build up with weld or plates made.........but with the net, intakes are more accessable etc so by the time you stuff about it maybe easier to just get an Offy intake.......mine cost me about $300.00 Oz by the time it landed here but that was at least 2yrs ago with a shitty Oz dollar.........anywa trust this helps........andyd
  9. An old Oz trick was to use Holden Grey intakes on the 23' engine and Holden Red intakes on the 25 or kew engine.......the only hassle was that as the Holden intakes is from the opposite side of the block the carby angle is backwards but I have seen small plates made up to correct the carby angle and the intakes seemed to work, this applies to stock/twin/triple carby Holden intakes for what I have been told.........andyd
  10. Bob........you got ripped off!!!.........lol....you paid how much for a clock??.....lol.......I bought my 1st Dodge, the Oz 1940 coupe for $40.00 Aust in 1970......but I wised up.......lol........I then bought the 1940 Dodge Sedan I still have, for $15.00.....my dad beat him down from $40.00 to $15.00........remember that Scotish ancestry I mentioned before?........I then bought another 3 1940 Dodge Sedans and a 1940 Dodge Ambulance all for $15.00 each over the next 2-3 yrs.......the last 1940 Dodge sedan I bought cost me $100.00........but that included delivery so i shouldn't complain too much........that was 25 yrs ago.........lol........I must admit tho'......I'm about the only sod thats interested in 1940 Dodges.......lol.......andyd

  12. Bill, also check the accelerator pump "cams", the little plastic ramp that the holley accelerator linkage pivots onm, they can be bought as a set of about 6-8 and can adjust the way the pump kicks in, also check that you have the 30/35cc accelerator pump and not the 50cc pump...and also change the size 12 right foot for a size 10.......lol.........lol........andyd
  13. Well after the last 1941 Plymouth clock had a starting price of $799.00 US I got a couple of nice pics of it from the net, trimmed the pics and will glue the best one onto my clock delete plate..........I won't have to wind it, it'll be the correct time twice a day and its 12volt compatable............lol.......he wanted $799.00 for a CLOCK!!!!!............for that I'd go tic, tic, tic, tic, all day......must be my tightarsed Scotish ancestry coming out.........$799.00 for a clock........am gunna go ly down............lol.......andyd

  16. Those little bumps are what the RHD accelerator linkage mounts and pivots on...........andyd
  17. There should be a round plug between the strap bracket and the coat hook spike, gentley dig into the round upholstery covered thing and it will lift out, there is a little screw that you undo and remove the grab strap...........andyd

  19. Depending on where you are located i'd try to find a blacksmith or someone experienced in cast iron welding or wrought iron work...........when I had my split exhaust manifolds done one had a piece missing just like that, except there was no pieces........came up perfect........good luck, andyd

  21. Whilst I don't doubt that people have had a problem with Andy Bernbaums gruff manner on the phone, to be fair to him I have been dealing with him for 20yrs and find that he does know his stuff and is prompt and o/k to deal with if you know what you want.....and doesn't mind sending to Australia, which is helpful........he also has a great paper catalog and a website thats equally good........www.oldmoparts.com........Steele Rubber Parts also do a great catalog tho' I have only bought Chev parts from them, again, good to deal with........both these businesses are worth contacting BUT make sure YOU know what you want before calling..........andyd in Oz

  25. One other thing to look out for is that the pressure radiator caps usually have a different length between the cap and the rubber seal plus a different length spring...can't remember whether the older non/low pressure systems use the shorter or longer cap but there is a difference from what I've seen..............andyd
