  4. Theres a NOS 41 Plymouth clock with box on ebay......starting figure is $400........buy it now for $850..........lol...................ha ha ho ho......merry xmas......I wonder what the box is worth............lol.......it looks nice but .......for that price it should look nice..........maybe my scotish ancestry is showing.........lol.......andyd
  5. Aero3113, these are just 5/16 UNC thread bolts, any of this size about 3/4" to 1" long will work, they do not need to be Hi tensile/grade 8, as they should not be tightened to the extend that you need to worry about a torque wrench setting.......so long as they are all 1/2" SAE heads they should be fine, used with either a star or spring washer......... andyd
  6. Tony..........whats a T173.......I've never heard of it.....andyd
  7. OOPS........sorry, Ryan.........whats the engine size.......I have rechecked what I have and I have 3 sets of rings and a set of pistons with pins, thought there were 3 sets of each......if you are interested either call me at the shop or at home on 02 66425963........won't be $800 that s for sure........lol......andyd
  8. Greg......what engine is this for?.....I have 3 sets of pistons and rings.......what size do you need?.........better still......phone me at my shop Sat morning......I am in South Grafton NSW, 02-66 435260.......the shop is Scale Automobilia........regards, Andy Douglas.....btw these are my cars.......I have been playing with mopar since 1971........andyd
  9. Jerry, just made the paypal payment, many thanks for your consideration in this, thanks and regards Andy Douglas
  10. Jerry, do you take paypal and how much would postage be to Australia?...........postcode 2460.....thanks, andyd
  11. Baldbusdriver...........this is what I was refering to, the copper apparently can cause the alloy head to react around where the head bolts or studs are.......my understanding is its not such an issue if you are using the original fastening method, ie ,bolts, as they undo and are physically removed from the hole, but if using steel studs, ie, ARP studs and using just the nuts to hold the head on, when the nuts are removed the studs still remain in the hole thru the alloy head, the copper supposedly can start a reaction with the alloy and this can corrode the head..........making it supposedly difficult to remove the head as there are 21 studs holding the sucker in place.........but I suppose if a good quality antifreeze/water inhibitor is used then this shouldn't happen.......btw this is NO reflection on the Edgy Head or Earls workmanship......I have one and am VERY IMPRESSED with it and intend to use it, but as it cost me over $1000.00 Australian I also intend to make sure it outlives me.........lol...............andyd
  12. Marty & Pete.......are you both running the standard head gaskets without any problem?.........I was always told that alloy & copper are not to be used together.......I have the ARP head studs, washers & nuts and was gunna use them on my edgy head, if I ever get around to it.......any info re the copper/alloy reaction etc would be appreciated.....thanks, andyd
  13. Buford, welcome from downunder, this is the best mopar website around, great bunch of guys, knowledgeable and helpful........I've also got a P11, a RHD Coupe and a D15 Sedan......anyway good to see another 41 Plymouth.................regards, andyd
  14. I haven't built my engine yet but it will be the same as yours, I have the 230, Edgy head, twin carbs, split exhaust, S10 dissy, etc, etc and I was concerned about using the standard head gaskets which are a copper gasket.........Aluminium doesn't like copper and I went looking for a straight steel gasket......Best Gasket in California makes them, I got a full gasket set with the steel head gasket no problem.....as mentioned none of this is together yet....haven't got Best Gaskets address on hand but do a search and they come up, the steel gaskets I think from memory have a."S" either before or after the number........check with flathead ford builders to be certain re this steel gasket thing if you like.........andyd
  15. Ben.......best thing is to measure your engines head length, tape measure from the front to back......if it's 23" then its the plymouth, if its 25" then its the Kew/Chrysler variation........in Oz its easier to find hot up stuff for the long engine, but overall there is more for the short engine in the USA..........call me if you can..........andyd
  16. My vote for "A" is it looks like the rear axle outer oil seal bolts, the half round head is on the diff side, the nut is on the brake side.......andyd
  17. Ben, call me at the shop..........ideally early, say 7.30-8am YOUR time.......I talk better than I type.Andyd
  18. Ben, the only 41 Plymouths sold here were a few sedans and the odd ute, coupes were last made in 1940 in Oz and were a unique Oz short roof/long boot coupe made from a sedan........most Oz mopars from the late 40's used the 25" long engine, very few 23" genuine Plymouth engines seem to have been used, which I suppose is similar to what happened in Canada.........the Dodge runs a 330 cube Poly, auto,4 wheel discs, etc the Plymouth will get a 230/finned head, twin carbs,T5 5 speed, discs, etc ......I know of a couple of people who can help you re the Kew intake/exhaust manifolds....the Plymouth has the short 23" 201 engine ...I usually come up to bananaland a couple of times a yr, May and August for some model shows, I've been involved in hot rodding since 1969, used to go to the various nationals etc but mainly just the local runs around here, Yamba, Valla, Armidale, Coffs etc.......have attached a couple more pics.......andyd
  19. My understanding was that US engine horses were rated under the SAE banner which meant all power robbing things like fan, generator, etc were disconnected and that European engine horses were rated DIN, which supposedly included all the extras........in the mid 70's US engine power ratings dropped dramatically when they went from the SAE to DIN method of measuring horses.......andyd
  20. Ooops........err Dodge I meant.......lol........andyd
  21. Damn!!!!........not another Australian!!........why don't you Aussies stick to Holdens!..........oops.........wrong website........eerr gidday maaatttee...........welcome to the absolute best website to do with mopar six's and whatever they live in.....btw I'm in Sth Grafton NSW, about 3-4 hrs below you.......have attached a pic of my 40 Dodge and 41 Plymouth....the Dodge is an Oz built car, I've rodded & have had since 1971, the Plymouth is a RHD Sth African car.....if you need some info whatever these guys here are the best bet anywhere, but if you want I don't mind a phone call.....am awake till 11pm NSW time on 02-66-425963 or call me at the shop www.scaleautomobilia.com.au ...........nice Plymouth btw......if its a Kew engine it should be 25" long, which is basically the US DeSoto/Chrysler engine but with some english/Oz tweeks.........lol......regards, Andy Douglas
  22. James.........you mention that mopar ran the engines @ 3600rpm for 50hrs..............lol............did any pass?......lol..........andyd
  23. With or without a tailwind?..........lol.........the original engine in my P11 coupe, the 201cube lump of throbbing power doesn't like much over 3200, and thats with the tailwind and me leaning forward in the seat, window down whipping the door like a jockey...........lol........now when I finish(if I ever finish) the 230 cube monster I'm building I intend to have it ballanced, hot cam, lightened flywheel, edgy head, twin carbs, split exhaust, bigger sail, larger whip, more angle on the seat......lol.........then go hunt me some Frods.......err......Fords..........now where did I put my meds?........lol.........andyd
  24. Michael..........do you make these knobs?.......Michael is the guys name, is that you?.......how do you know these are hand polished?........what are they made of?.........plastic?.....resin?......bakerlite?.......will they ship outside of the US?........
  25. Michael.........where exactly did the bolt come from?.......do you still have it?........how about some measurements?.......
