  1. Have to agree. I have had good luck with USPS flat rate, but two month's ago I had to 2 day ship some documents to my dad's estate attorney. Three weeks later they finally arrived and then they charged me $1.88 for additional postage! Been using UPS instead, more expensive but no delivery issues so far.
  2. The worse is the Office ribbon. Every major version they move something. I use to be pretty proficient on Word 5 & 6, but now most of the time now is I know Word will do this but how. Lots of Google searches! (Yes I had to use it in business for nearly 30 years and old habits die hard)
  3. Looks like most of the "new" Windows stuff is user interface stuff, like rounded corners on forms. Also known as lipstick on a pig.
  4. FYI Mac updates have been free since 2013, so yeah more cool free stuff.
  5. You are better off just making one with a dial indicator. Use search to see how others have done it. You can start here.... https://p15-d24.com/page/p15d24/tech/brakes.html/ in the brake shoe adjustments section towards the bottom. One other point, have you turned your drums to make sure they are not out of round? Even with a correct gauge it the drums are out of round you will never get them adjusted correctly.
  6. Well the ads basically pay the bills and that's it. I don't really expect an "income' from the site, it's just too narrow in focus. Traffic has been slowly going up but the bills also do the same thing. As for me I'm now retired but started in technology sales in 1983. As in the last century when computers were still using punched cards!
  7. So IPS (the forum software vendor) is releasing an update soon that will have a new capability called "Achievements". Basically the more active you are in the community you gain points that can result in rewards. Rewards could be different types of recognitions like badges on your profiles or posts. I'm thinking something a little more tangible, like additional free disk storage quota. Again rewards are based on different types of activity like posting threads, liking posts, responding to or following threads. Inquiring minds might be thinking "But doesn't additional storage cost you money?" Well yes, but increased site activity drives more page views which increases monthly revenue from Google, which in turn makes paying the bills easier. So I see a win/win for all. Become a more active member and get more storage so you can post more with more images which helps me pay for everything! Let me know what you think!
  8. From the hosting ISP: This maintenance is necessary to install a critical security patch. Downtime is expected to be less than 10 minutes.
  9. I will check again to be sure, but Hollanders Interchange does not show that as a distributor you can swap in.
  10. You sure on that 4109-1 number? I don't see one listed in the Hollanders Interchange manual. Also what is the vehicle? T306 was in a B3 and B4 truck (218ci) but you sig shows Powerwagon which would be a 230ci.
  11. Is just having additional storage enough to justify the subscription fee? Are other benefits needed?
  12. Pretty sure if you upload/organize your photos in the Gallery section they can easily be shared in any thread you want. Let me do a little research to verify and then I will post an example.
  13. Couple points. Both storage and bandwidth cost $$$ at both my local ISP and the hosting site for P15-D24. Most forum sites don't offer free image posting with storage on the site server. Instead they require 3rd party hosting like Photobucket and then Photobucket charges more to allow external site access. I decided to incur the cost as I think the easier it is for people to post images to the threads the better the story and experience. If you downsample your images before posting you should be able to share hundred of pictures. When you post a file a gigabyte in size you will go through your quota pretty quick. That said I'm open to proposals for options to allow additional disk storage people could add as a "subscription". Probably would have limitation like they can only be used on this site (no eBay image hosting) and copyright sharing/release. If people are serious post your idea/proposals. Just don't forget bandwidth (for downloads) and storage is not free from my site ISP so some charge will be involved.
  14. Photobucket is not part of Apple. Beware of potential scams!
  15. No. And we don't have any annual fees except for personal blogs. Everybody has a quota of free storage on the P15-D24 server. The moderators have a larger quota. When a member fills up his quota he has to either delete some photos or use an external source like PhotoBucket. Optionally, typically your ISP (i.e. cable company) provides a free web server where you can store images and link to them here. We have discussed in the past about an option where members could purchase additional storage capacity on the P15-D24 server, but no one really expressed any interest.
  16. You are out of space on attachment quota. It's at 99% used. Give me a while to figure out how raise it.
  17. I think a couple different versions exist. The one I have is for trucks and is permanently mounted. The idea is the master is set so low this device makes it easy to fill. It is still boxed in storage so I don't have any pics.
  18. I have one for my truck. It's a mopar accessory and mounts on the firewall and connects to the lid of the master cylinder. Lot easier to fill the master.
