  1. Directly from the man himself when I questioned about plugs / torque for my head. And just an FYI when I asked him about the internal by-pass since his head is not drilled for the by-pass.
  2. Tyler, Where is your shop? I am in far north Plano right at 121 and Custer. Dodge looks like you did a great job. If that is any indication I look forward to the build of your 39. Here is a good thread from the HAMB on a small block Mopar into a 41 coupe might give you some ideas / things to look out for http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=498434&highlight=plymouth Kirk
  3. Guys, I stumbled upon this site and thought it has some useful info. http://www.homemadetools.net/
  4. I have the cast iron headers with 2 1/4 inch pipes with a cross over before the mufflers. Mufflers are just short 14 inch no name turbo style mufflers. Here is a video of mine running
  5. Greg, Your lack of first / reverse is most likely a result of poor adjustment of the linkage. The manuals will give the proper procedure for the adjustment. If you don't have a manual and want me to scan the procedure for you let me know.
  6. What happens to old car guys sent to the rest home......
  7. Here you can see how mine is done. Langdon's Stovebolts sells the cast headers and here is the verbage from their site. The flange and seal kit is what is on mine. Since you already have the headers Tom may be willing to sell you just the flange and seal kit. then you just have your muffler shop provide a flared down pipe and pull it tight with the flange and donut seal.
  8. I have no experience with the fluid drive so can't help you there, but on your question of "seat of the pants" difference in the 230 to a 218 ABSOLUTELY. As long as both are in similar state of wear / repair there is a noticable difference in the performance of the 230 compared to the 218.
  9. Maybe this will help somewhat.
  10. Randroid, Sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I will pray for your swift recovery, also I will include your doctors and nurses in my prayers as well. I will also post a link to this thread in the Chapel over on the HAMB.
  11. I bought a "new" OD Solenoid from him. He had a box full and brought them all out and we went through them one by one until we found what I needed. $70 he said "run it for a few weeks and if it aint workn right bring it back and we'll get ya another one." While I was there they had a couple people working behind the counter that took several phone calls. Each time the caller obviously asked for a particular part, his worker bees would ask do we have such and such, he would answer yes then tell them exactly where it was building, rack and shelf without ever getting off the stool where he was helping me. He is setting on hundreds of thousands of dollars, but you would never know it looking at him.

  13. In essence, you were the wholesaler and the other guy was the retailer. Happens everday at every store in the country.
  14. I'm running dual Carter Webbers. Took them out of the box and bolted them on and it ran great.
  15. For $2400 it better show me more than the direction, it better show me a good time or two.
  16. Would like to have driven one of these but they didn't have one. Hennessey Venom 1000 Twin Turbo Power: • 850 - 1,000+ Rear Wheel HP (1,000 - 1,200+ Flywheel HP) Performance: • 0-60: 2.25 sec. * • 1/4 mile: 9.75 sec. @ 148+ mph * • 0-150 mph: 10.0 sec. • Standing Mile: 217.9 mph • 60-0 mph Braking: 103.6 ft. • 100-0 mph Braking: 288 ft. • Chassis Dyno: 977 Rear Wheel HP Note: * Denotes Viper World Record. 17. Yeah, I think I'll keep her. Even though she calls the Plymouth a "piece of junk".
  18. It was a Christmas gift from my wife. There is an exotic car rental place here and she purchased an hour for me.
  19. Went and drove this for nearly an hour today. •512 Horse Power •5.0L V-10 engine •375 lb-ft Torque •All Wheel Drive Of course since I was on the highways over by Fort Worth I didn't get to open it up but did get it to about 80 and it gets there quick. Made me realize that when I get rich I will be looking for some other form of motoring excess. Had the seat as low as it would go and my hair was still rubbing on the headliner. You think it is tough to see the traffic lights from a P15 try it from a Lambo. Not the most comfortable seats either, would not want to ride in it for a long distance, but at least you could get there in a hurry. Rode like a lumber wagon until you got it up to speed then it rode / drove fairly well. Kind of unique in that if you are setting still and do not have the brake pedal fully engaged, it will shift into neutral after a few seconds then beep at you to let you know, something to do with the double clutch. Depress the brake, flip the paddle shifter and you are back in first. Also has a button on the console which raises the front of the car to allow you to enter / exit driveways. Reverse is a push button on the lower left side of the dash near the door. Kind of cool time, not often you get to drive a car like this. But, now that I have done it once not really interested in doing it again. Unless I could drive it a little more aggressively.

    Rain

We are getting the rain around North Dallas / Plan as well. Fortunately for us it is the slow soaker. We dang sure need it so I hope it rains for a couple of days.
  21. Have always been a Mopar fan. My dad raced dirt modifieds back in the 60's when I was a kid and also ran a 41 Willys Gasser for a while. All were Mopar powered. Then when I was early teens, my uncle who lived next door and was 7 years older than me had a very quick 70 roadrunner followed by a 47 Plymouth club coupe. So when I was 14 I used my entire fortune (yard mowing money) to purchase my first car, a 48 Business Coupe. Ended up putting a 383/727 in it. Then had a 73 Cuda that I built a 383/727 for that would scream. Traded it for a 33 Plymouth coupe with a 318. Then my wife and I started a family and I drove boring a$$ family cars for about 18 years until my youngest daughter needed a car. Gave her my Camry and bought my current 48 Plymouth Club Coupe. Would have prefered another Business Coupe but was being practical and have a back seat.
  22. Oh yeah! Just wait until September, we'll see who's still standing! It sure won't be the Mets. Made the trip from Joplin to St Louis several times back in the 80's when the Mets were in town. Always saw hundreds of "Mets are Pond Scum" t-shirts. Having grown up in a family of diehard Cardinal fans (in fact my grandfather coached in the Cardinal's minor league system for several years) I was almost disowned when I became a Mets fan. When my grandfather and I would go fishing we would go out on the lake and drift all night fishing for catfish and listening to the Cardinals games. I must admit I liked listening to Jack Buck and Mike Shannon call the games but for very different reasons. Jack Buck in my opinion was one of the best radio guys to call a baseball game. With Shannon it was allways "I'll bet you a frosty cold one" several times a game. You knew if it went to extra innings he was going to be snockered. Oh well I have hijacked enough. Again great job on the moredoor.
  23. OK, I'll try the pictures again
  24. Good job falcon. You did enough to make it yours and didn't bust the bank. You can cruise that one for a while and likely make money on it when/if you decide to part ways with it. Oh and from a long time Mets fan, THE CARDINALS ARE POND SCUM
