  1. I believe that thread was started by this forum's Greg G. Jim Yergin
  2. So much for not seeing them on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.m748&item=190281966637&viewitem=&_trkparms=clkid%3D7853498866011320548 Jim Yergin
  3. I got the parts to rebuild my Plymouth O/D from Northwest Transmissions (http://www.nwtparts.com/). At that time they did not have the O/D gaskets and I had to cut my own. Maybe they have them now? The only ones I have ever seen on eBay are for Ford/Mercury. Jim Yergin
  4. That's how you install the rear disc brakes for the AAJ set-up. Jim Yergin
  5. Joe, The $64 question: is the noise in #6 gone? Jim Yergin
  6. I have the AAJ setup on both my front and rear brakes on my '41 Plymouth and I am using original Plymouth 15" wheels. Jim Yergin
  7. Joe didn't mention the need to also screen the sand if you have cats. Jim Yergin
  8. Robin, I am also using a Shift-Rite knob with the overdrive in my '41 P12. Because that switch is normally open I ran it to a normally closed relay I found at Radio Shack. I ran the ground from the O/D through the normally closed relay terminals. When I depress the Shift-Rite it completes the circuit to the power terminals on the relay and opens the ground connections to the O/D. The only relay I could find that would work for me is 12 volt but I have a 6 volt to 12 volt converter in my car to operate my radio so I just used that source to power the relay. Hope this makes sense. You probaly don't have Radio Shack in the UK but if you have the 12 volt converter it may expand your sources for a relay. Jim Yergin
  9. Joe, Rather than have it lost in all the posts about working out your problems, I do want to congratulate you on getting the engine to start. That is great news. You will get everything else worked out. Jim Yergin
  10. Joe, Have you static timed your engine? Have you double checked the order and placement of your spark plug wires? I had a similar problem on one of my start-ups, and it turned out to be timing. One time I was 180' off. Another time my wires were one place off on the cap. I know you will get it. Good luck. Jim Yergin
  11. Take a look here: http://www.oldmopar.com/oldmopar/colorchart.html Jim Yergin
  12. Still working on getting the O/D to work. Have to do some confidence building time behind the wheel before committing to Vermont. Jim Yergin
  13. Mark, You might want to take a look at this string: http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=21298&highlight=hubcap+clips Jim Yergin
  14. Joe, Have you considered calling Neil Riddle and see if he has any thoughts? Jim Yergin
  15. Joe, That's should be exciting. Good luck and keep us posted. Jim Yergin
  16. Rodney, Where is the show? Jim Yergin
  17. Sorry I can't help you on the carb question but I would say that you do not have a 230. I believe the P15 in the engine ID# indicates it is the 218 that was standard in the P15's. Jim Yergin
  18. I was using Chrome and liked it but now it will not allow me to access my Comcast (my internet provider) email. I contacted Comcast and was told the problem was the browser I was using so I don't use Chrome anymore. Jim Yergin
  19. Looking good Chet. Putting it back together is so much more fun than taking it a part isn't it? Jim Yergin
  20. Ouch Rodney! Which cars are in the garage? Jim Yergin
  21. Joe, Glad to hear of the progress. Spent the weekend re-installing the O/D transmission into my car. I also fabricated a bracket that allows me to use a pre-war Chrysler overdrive lock-out cable. I like the looks of the round knob with the raised "OD" on it. Also have the bracket that mounts it on the steering column. Still have to re-attach the shift rods, the drive shaft, the front floor and the front seat. Hopefully I will be back on the road next weekend. Chris and Jerry's visit helped inspire me too. When you guys are ready, you, Chet, Rodney and I will have to cruise somewhere together. Jim Yergin
  22. Chris, So sorry to hear about your mother. Hopefully she will be better soon and you can resume your trip. Jim Yergin
  23. I have had better luck finding that information in the parts manual for my '41 P12. Jim Yergin
  24. Brian, If you have the space and the available power, you can find free regular kitchen ovens on Craig's List that you can use. That's what I did. I also bought an inexpensive powder coat gun and had pretty good success doing my wheels. Jim Yergin Original wheel Wheel sandblasted Powdercoated wheel
