  1. My neighbor calls that "Plymouth talk."
  2. Yes, I've been trying to turn one of these for the last few weeks. Broke one screwdriver already.
  3. I saw this from the parking garage this morning. In the middle is a gaggle of geese (and a few seagulls), arranged in a nice circle. The other brown lumps in the grass are gopher hills and not geese. I watched a few small flocks of geese arrive and they all landed right in the circle.
  4. That was a heck of a game. I was really impressed with what Rogers was able to do, given the sore leg.
  5. What I meant is that the club coupe door interchanges with the business coupe door within each division from 1942-48 - including Plymouth. But you're right that the Plymouth door is different than the door for the other three divisions. Those three divisions all used the same doors for their 1942-48 club coupes and business coupes, although it looks like a different door was used in 1942, compared to 1946-48 (based on the part number). Plymouth had the same door part number for 1942 and 1946-48.
  6. I get to watch seahawks today, cowboys tomorrow, and ducks on monday. I can't believe my favorite teams are all still playing.
  7. Looks like also same for Dodge, Plymouth, Desoto.
  8. Thanks for posting all the details.
  9. Looks like the answers to the original OP are yes and no!
  10. I've got a '46 New Yorker - not nearly is nice as Bob's!
  11. My original post was about the fabric on the inside of the rear fenders and wheel wells - not the trunk mat. I posted the pictures of my mat and backing as an fyi because the thread veered in that direction. Regarding my original post, SMS thinks they have the correct fabric and are going to send me a sample.
  12. Thank you! Couldn't see that easily in the full site version.
  13. I had two thick cardboard pieces under my mat, one in the middle and another in front of the axle hump. I plan to replace both with closed cell foam. My mat, which I think is original, is still in decent shape so I will keep using it.
  14. Is the "mobile version" a setting you change on the phone or by clicking a link on the site? I used to see this site in mobile version but it got switched somehow to "full site" and I can't figure out how to change it back. My phone is Galaxy S4 if that matters. Thx.
  15. Seen yesterday at Sky High Sports in Portland. A 1940 I think.
  16. I got a prompt refund from this vendor when I complained about a product.
  17. Remember that guy (Mark Walker) that made the nice videos about fixing up his '41 Plymouth? He sent me a photo of his restored trunk a while back. I looked through the photos I took of my trunk before I took out the burlap, and the same pattern is visible. Thus, the burlap was just a backing material and I need to ask Mark where he got that replacement fabric. Pics of his trunk and the burlap in mine are attached.
  18. My 1942 coupe had burlap glued to the inside of the rear fenders and wheel wells in the trunk. I was speaking today with an upholsterer and he thought it unlikely that the trunk was trimmed solely with burlap. He thinks it must have been a liner and that another fabric had been glued on top of it. Does anyone know anything about this? I had assumed it was trimmed with burlap and was planning to glue down replacement burlap. Thx.
  19. It's funny how these projects snowball. This started with me taking off the trunk to replace the hinges and turned into a bunch of extra projects. One thing I've learned over the last few years with this car is that it's a lot easier taking things off than putting them back on. I'm working on getting everything back onto the car that I took off over the last year or so.
  20. Wow, thanks everyone. I stuck with the rubberized gasket material, because I had already cut it to shape, but added silicone to seal it better and added extra silicone in the wide spot where the wires go through. Per Don's suggestion, I also made a new gasket for the sending unit out of rubberized cork
  21. What have folks used as a replacement for the gasket on the sending unit access plate in the trunk? I made a replacement out of a rubberized gasket material from the auto parts store, but it is not thick and compressible enough to work very well. Maybe a thick felt material? Also, the plate has a raised section for the wires to pass through. Mine originally had a black gooey substance around the wires to seal that raised section. What's a good replacement for the gooey stuff? Thx.
  22. That's a good idea. Nice work.
  23. Thanks for posting a link to those plans. Did you come up with the roller system at the bottom yourself?
  24. I got one (cork) for a couple of bucks from Olson's Gaskets. Great folks to work with. http://www.olsonsgaskets.com/
  25. This won't help if you've removed the car from Washington, but a couple years ago I was looking at a car that potentially lacked a title in San Juan county. The county auditor told me that if there was no title at all, you could get a VIN inspection from the State Patrol and get a temporary "affidavit in lieu of title." After three years you can then apply for a regular title. We found the title for the car I was looking at so I didn't test whether this is accurate or not.
