  1. "Several months ago I was contacted by a woman looking for someone with a woodie" That line could be followed by a lot of different stories. ;)
  2. It is something else. Twin cylinder. The caption above the fake exhaust says: V12-10
  3. After the info about the ladies, I am glad you have a picture of your "trophy".
  4. Pictures from the show when I arrived. I didn't shoot any after most of the cars/planes arrived. Too busy shooting the breeze with a couple old friends I hadn't seen in a while,
  5. I am a motorcycle rider, have been for 30+ years. I know a little about the 1%er culture. I have never had an issue with these guys personally. Definitely not a lifestyle for me though. Big difference between a motorcycle enthusiast and a hard core biker. None have ever given more than a passing glance when I am on my Kawasaki. Just shows the power of an old car as a conversation starter. A lot of, so called, professionals could take a lesson in respect from this guy. Some interesting reading here for anyone interested in learning about MC's http://www.rcvsmc.net/id6.html
  6. My wife and I took the old Dodge to a cruise in / fly in at Mid State Airport near Philipsburg, PA today. Nice event. On the way home we stopped at a convenience store for refreshments. She went in and I waited in the car. I saw this biker, a 1% type, with the proper patches etc, at the gas pumps. He sees the car and makes a bee line to me. He walks up and says "Cool car, what is it?' I told him and he proceeded to tell me about one of his "brothers" who has a "49 Dodge. Before he leaves he says "Sir, would it be ok if I took a picture?" I said it was ok and he took his photo and said "Thank you sir." He then returned to his bike.Respect is something rarely practiced anymore. I hope he gets as good as he gave.
  7. Nice car. Congrats and have fun.
  8. Good luck to you John.
  9. Nice job!
  10. Congrats! Enjoy the rides.
  11. Nice job, great car!
  12. Try running w/o the gas cap and see if it works better. It is a cheap test.
  13. Also Allpar lists this as one of Chrysler's innovations. "Pressure vent radiator cap (1949)"
  14. Found this online awhile back. Radiator Cap.pdf
  15. Looks like the guys on the HAMB are on the trail. Someone will nail it down there or here. Glad you got the brake working.
  16. No expert by any means. I have read that the Lincoln Versailles rear was a popular swap due to their Ford 9" having disk brakes. A quick search turned up this http://www.mustangmonthly.com/techarticles/mump_0008_ford_granada_9_inch_rearend_swap/photo_03.html Some of the photos seem somewhat similar. Hope that it helps.
  17. I have a '50 Plymouth 218, a '41 Dodge 218, a '70 something 225 and a 70 something 360. I just last week built an a-frame over my Bilco door and lowered the '50 218 and the 225 slant into the basement to make room in the garage. The 260 is on a stand in a garage corner and the '41 motor is in my brothers storage shed. A guy can never have enough spare engines.
  18. Welcome! Sharp car.
  19. Looks good. I like the Stude trucks.
  20. Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. Those Gremlins sure made a nice dirt track modified body.
  21. I have the clip on mirrors. Both are useful. One is useful for the driver and one for the passenger. Not both for either. When I was a kid I remember Grandpap had his mounted on the door frame just above the point where the vent window and side window meet. Thought about trying mine there but have not to date.
  22. Not me Rodney, this is my brothers car. I will pass along your comments. He got to drive it up and down the road the other day. Maiden voyages are the best!
  23. Nice Job!
  24. Hey Rodney I promised you some Demon progress picks. Here ya go.
