  1. Going to take it out today, look it over, and try again. Thanks for the ideas..Greg
  2. Put a line into a gas can and turned her over, but nothing came out the inlet to the carb, so I think the pump is bad or I have it installed wrong. Didn't see any special procedure in the manual to install it, looks rights from the diagram. Will keep tryin...
  3. Trying to get her runnin for the first time, but getting no fuel. :confused Took a fuel pump off a 218, will this work in a 230? Looks like on vpw they may be different. If it is the same is there a special way the pump needs to be installed. I am not sure if the pump is good, so may just buy a new one to be sure. Thanks Greg
  4. I used Old Daddy's and they are great. Also easy to get a hold of if you have questions...Greg
  5. I am at the same point you are. Finally finished up the re-wiring now time to start her for the first time next week. I am excited but also very worried, being as this is the first car I have really ever worked on. Anyone have some kind of checklist I can run through to make sure I have checked everything, before I start her for the first time? Any tricks to getting it running the first start? Thanks as always..Greg
  6. I bought the one off ebay for $140 and installed it the other day. Looks great and fits perfect. Hoping to get mine started for the first time in many years soon also....good luck!
  7. Waiting to be born in 5 years...
  8. Here is a couple of pictures of the carb. Thx for looking....GF
  9. Trying to rebuild my B&B carb and received a different accelerator pump. The one on the left is a new one for a D6G1 from mike's carburetor. The one on the right was taken from my carb. Anyone know why they are different, as this is supposedly for a D6G1. Need to get this thing rebuilt so I can get her running some day soon. Thanks as always for any info...GREG
  10. Bought this one and worked great for a resonable price. http://sastool.com/mpp-universal-hub-puller.html GF
  11. Greg, You are right. That would not help much..ugh. I have a Stromberg WW two barrell that fits nicely, just would have to run different linkage (Lokar) like one of the other gentlemen did. Getting overly anctious and trying to see if I could try to get it to run, as this is the first car I have ever really worked on. Guess I'll just figure out a linkage solution to use the Stromberg, and do it the right way. Really apppreciate all your ideas..GF
  12. Do you think this would work from Langdon's. Could just reverse it. I just want to see if I can get this running someday soon. Maybe then I could concentrate on building a throttle linkage for the two barrell. thanks again for the advice...GREG
  13. Does anyone know if there is a way to convert my two barrell intake(4 bolt) to the original single barrell carb(2 bolt) pattern. I have a stromberg two barrel carb that fits on it, just don't want to rig a new throttle system if I don't have to. Would like to use the original carb and linkage. Thanks as always for your help...GREG
  14. I bought a few from him and they were great. Also got them fast, and didn't cost alot in shipping. Would definitely buy from him again...G
  15. Alan, that looks amazing. Now I just need to convince the wife to let me spend some money, so I can hopefully drive a car as nice as yours. Tried to explain to her that kids don't need college anymore, just hasn't sunk in yet. Great Job!
  16. Flew over Joplin yesterday. Unbelieveable that you can see a brown streak across the southern side of the city from 34000 ft. Glad things are slowly getting back to normal for you and your family...
  17. Looks like 2# 735 1896, I think...
  18. That is an amazing car...very jealous
  19. Oh great! If you haven't figured it out, then I have absolutely no chance! Might need to look for plan "C". Thanks for the heads up.....Greg
  20. Yes, Ed I did but the matching intake that is why I am hoping it'll work. My old intake cracked when I took it off, so I bought this one at the same time I bought the engine. What worries me is that some of the gentlemen on this forum mentioned that the stock linkage did not work for this setup. Thanks GREG
  21. When I got my 230 I also bought a Stromberg WW two barrel carb. If I am reading this right, it will not work on my 1947 P-15? Anyone have one on their 15? IF so is there anything special I need to do to make it work when I put my motor back together? Thanks Greg
  22. aero: Was thinking about giving Randall a call and see if he has one he could send me. Man they do great work there, and was quick. Thanks guys for all your help, couldn't do any of this without your help! PS: you fly?
  23. Just got my clutch back from Tennessee Clutch and it looks great. I aligned it by sight so far, but was wondering where I can by the tool to make it right. Tried napa and pep boys but no luck. Anyone have an extra they'd like to sell. Thanks greg
  24. Tom: What kind of board is that you used for the support? Looks great!
  25. Just sent mine to Randall today, what a nice guy. Fit pressure plate, clutch, and hand brake in the large post office one price box, $15.95. Told me he'll give me a call when its done and arrange payment at that time.
