  1. Sorry to bother you guys again, but are the bumpers on a 1942 Plymouth the same as the 1947. Looks like it from the picture, but want to check with the pros. Thanks again...g
  2. Robert, that makes sense because it came from a gentleman from BC, Canada. You say I can use the same brackets? Do I need to bend them some to line up the holes? Thanks for your help....GREG
  3. Bob I think you are right. The rear also have those two bolt holes close together near the end, but this one does not. I'll have to check again, but I didn't think it lined up correctly with the front either. Thanks guys and Bob that car is amazing, makes me jealous...GREG
  4. Bought two bumpers from a guy. The front bumper lines up perfectly, but the back one is no where close. I have a 1947 P-15. Just want to know, since I'll probably sell it and need to know what it'll fit. Thanks guys...GREG $50 plus shipping if you'd like it. Holes are at 6 1/2", 24", 44 1/2", 65", and 82" approximately with a tape measure.
  5. I too bought the hub puller from SAStool.com. I have yet to try it as it just arrived today. About $55 with shipping and got it fast. Let you know if it works..Greg
  6. Well didn't screw in, so tried to wiggle it out, but broke it..ERRRR!!! So, anyone know where to buy one for my 230? Thanks Greg
  7. I'll see if mine is threaded. Thanks! Goodguys at TMS was great, but did not see one P-15. Amazing what some can do with sheet metal and some paint.....GREG
  8. I am trying to remove the dipstick tube from one engine and move it to the new one. I am unable to get it out. Does anyone have any suggestions to get it out? Do I need to hammer itnup from the underside? Should I just buy a new one? It is really jammed and don't really want to break it. (218 p47) Off to Goodguys at TMS. Thanks again for any help...Greg
  9. Thanks guys, just wanted to get an idea of going rates. Greg, that what I am hoping I can do soon, just get her runnin. Also, keeping an eye out if something comes along that I may need on the future. Thanks again, don't know what i would do without this website..GF
  10. I see Mikey has two pieces of rocker trim for sale on ebay for $450. I have one good one and one where someone put some screws through to attach to the car. Is this price reasonable? I was going to look for a new piece of trim in the future, but just wondered if this is how much I am going to have to pay. Thanks as always...GREG
  11. Anyone know where I can get the sway eliminator cushion? I see roberts carries the sway bar bushing part #P295. Are these the same? It looks different in the parts manual, but can't find who else carrries one. Thanks again...Greg
  12. Have two engines out right now. How do you guys reinstall those freeze plugs once you remove them and clean them out? Does it require a special tool? thx Greg
  13. When I was flying commuters, used to ask for the "bay tour" from SF int'l tower. Would let us fly low level over the city then out to the ocean over the Golden Gate bridge. Passengers just loved it. What a beautiful city.
  14. Ya, who needs a heater in the garage. I was sweating my butt off just getting it out. Took the front end off the next day, little to late. Will make it alot easier to drop it back in...GREG
  15. Looks great, hopefully someday mine will look as nice as yours. Guess I'll need to learn to paint first...
  16. Thanks guys, first time doing anything is a bear. I think I am going to try to remove the fenders for the install just to try to minimize anymore damage to me or the car. Taking it out with the hood on, that guy is amazing. The wife is a worry wart, but she is nice to have around for an extra hand when things are stuck. Next time hopefully will be easier, now that I have somewhat of an idea what I am doing...
  17. Well guys, Crappy weather in Dallas, so had to get outside. Decided to pull the engine in my P-15. Other than pulling my shoulder muscle, scratching the fender, bending the garage door, and having the wife yell at me cause she thought I was gonna kill myself, things went pretty well. Just thought it would be a little easier, the way you professionals describe it. Anyway think I'll get a few more hand for the install once I have the 230 put together. Nothing like learning by fire....Greg
  18. Sorry, guess it would help to tell you it is a 1947 P-15. Thank you Ralph I will try that. Thanks again guys for the info, this site is a godsend for us of those who buy cars and know very little about them. Learning quick and having fun..Greg
  19. Posted this on archives forum, but thought I'd try this one. I am trying to remove the crankcase pan, but it get stuck on the steering linkage. Does this linkage need to be disconnected to drop the pan? Do I have to remove the flywheel? Thanks again for helping a rookie with his new toy...Greg
  20. New dumb guy question: I have a stuck flat head 6. I am trying to get the oil pan out the bottom, but can not get it out, catches on steering linkage. Do I need to disconnect the linkage to get it to drop straight down. Just trying everything to get it unstuck. Thanks GREG
  21. Thanks guys for the welcome. It is a great site and an amazing amount of knowledge. As for hkestes41, yes sir I live near Flower Mound so some day I may take you up on your offer. I think I finally got the picture small enough to attach. She seems to be in pretty good shape, needs a little floor work, some disc brakes, and probably alot of engine work. Anyway hope to get her on the road someday in the not to far future. Greg
  22. Bought a 1947 P-15 last week. I know nothing really about cars, and may have bit off more than I can chew. But I wanted to say thank you in advance for the wealth of information on this website. I am in the process of seeing if I can get it running, but may be locked up. Anyway I have learned more about cars (Plymouths) in the last week, than I have in the first 42 yrs of my life. Thanks again for all the information and help with getting this thing running...Greg (Dallas/Ft. Worth)
