  1. Yes Hank, just about any radio would fit Old Yeller cause the dash has never been cut.
  2. I think this seller is trying for a big boost to his retirement fund right now. Here's another one of his signs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OLD-DODGE-BROTHERS-PLYMOUTH-APR-SERVICE-Porcelain-SIGN-/130670547256?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e6c925138
  3. 54 was the first year for the optional 241 V8. Do you know what engine the 54 is equipped with? Buying a truck from the original owners would sway me towards buying it especially if the sellers would include a little history and maybe even some early photos of the truck.
  4. Lots of folks have parts available here on the forum. What do you need and where are you located ? Nice truck ! Welcome !
  5. I don't know Tim. My Wife Lisa is 45 and my oldest daughter Connie is 43. It's been working now for 18 years.
  6. Looking really good Paul !
  7. Too bad she lives so far away....eh Tim. Good story.
  8. Here's a larger version of that needle used in the old Postal Telegraph clocks that I restore. Here is a before, during, and after shot of one that was repainted the wrong color and was in need of a face lift. These clocks are 20" in diameter. Blasted to bare metal. The new vinyl face And the after
  9. You can measure the stroke of the engine by removing the little pipe plug on the head above #6 cylinder. Insert a straight piece of wire in the hole at least 6" long and measure the difference between top and bottom of stroke. someone else here can tell you what the stroke measurement translates to. I don't have that info in front of me right now.
  10. Will watch those rotors. Yup....a 5.7 Hemi ! I figured I gotta have at least one before I die.
  11. Oh, thanks for the offer Keven but I need a 4x4 around these parts. We get 6" or more of snow a couple of times a year here and have a very steep section of driveway. I made the leap last night and came home with an 05 4x4 Quad Cab SLT for a couple K less than bluebook. Yahoo !!!
  12. I also have a 97 Dakota with the 318 and an automatic. I think it's rated at maybe 230HP and this newer truck with the 350 Hemi is rated at 345HP. I want it for taking my boat and the relatives to the lake. We usually have to take 2 vehicles because the Dakota only has tiny back seats and the relatives aren't tiny.
  13. I'm contemplating replacing my 97 Dakota with it's 318 engine with a newer (2005) bigger truck with a 350 Hemi and wondered what the talk is on the streets and garages regarding the engine? http://www.carmax.com/enus/view-car/default.html?id=8187758&M=Dakota%20SD&D=70&ASTc=Dakota%20&zip=95945&pD=0&pI=0&pT=400&pC=200&pB=0&No=0&Ep=fas:results:state:promo&Rp=F&Vp=R&PP=20&sV=List&CD=14+966+240+190+398+15&Q=4ed8c4d2-269e-4e39-9a12-dc6da6d2e68b
  14. Yeah Bob, the tail lights on the bay must be for a Plymouth cause the Dodge ones are shaped like a parallelogram.
  15. I think if you must install a V8 at least keep it in the MoPar family.
  16. Just spotted this photo on Jaker110's string about getting ready for spring.
  17. The P.O. must have installed some after market gadgets there. I would fill them back in or find some really cool after market items to fill the holes again. Nothing from the factory ever went there in my experience.
  18. Google Steele Rubber Products.
  19. Yes,similar years of Dodge and Plymouth do.
  20. I've never had them or the wiper motor. A previous owner removed them but never replaced. The hood side trim looks the same. Rocker molding too maybe.
  21. Here's a photo of my 42 D22 3 window. Maybe someone else here with a D24 3 window will post a similar photo for comparrison.
  22. Welcome to the group. FYI, Plymouth pickups were only made in 1937-1939 and the engine was a 201 ci for all 3 years. Go to this site and find where your engine number is located and what the engine is. http://www.t137.com/registry/help/otherengines/otherengines.php
  23. Wow !....that's what I wanted to do to mine except I was just going to put the cab on a 3/4 ton chassis and retain the 251 flat 6. The bad economy got in the way and I sold it instead. The one Barry ,of Storage Wars drives, is a 38-39 Ford.
  24. I agree. I like the hipped roof lines of the new house.
  25. Thanks for the link Bob. Hows the rebuilding going ?
