  1. They should all be straight. I just redid my 1952 108" bed. Bob
  2. Now thats more like what those tools should sell for -not $500.00!
  3. Here is a picture of a factory original installed Dodge truck turn signal switch. It came factory on my 4 ton. There is one other style switch also. Factory installed turn signals are not very common on the Dodge trucks. Bob
  4. You cannot just turn the pan around-the side rails are different. You need a 23" truck pan. Also the truck pan has the dipstick coming directly out of the pan at a slight angle. Bob
  5. Fred, The Chrysler speedo is different than the P15's and am pretty sure in all aspects. As for lubing and cleaning yes you need to do it. I don't have the proper answer as to how to do it. I've tried to find out about speedometer repairs/service on the old speedos and have come up with nothing to as to how to really do an in depth repair/rebuild and service especially on how to completely disassemble the odometer and put it back together so it works correctly! I do have a NOS 1947-8 speedo as you see in the picture. I'm afraid to install it until it is cleaned of all old hardened grease/lube in it. I have talked to people who put NOS speedo's in the car to then have them seize up. These Chrysler speedos are near impossible to find good ones let alone NOS ones. Here are some misc 46-8 speedo pic's. Notice 1946 models have Arrows not the 2 dots-one for turn signal the other is for high beam. 1946 Chryslers have the high beam indicator on the top of the dash above the cluster. Bob
  6. A common problem with the 1946-8 chrysler speedometers is the odometers failing and not working correctly. The pot metal gears in the odometer get worn/damaged and the numerals never line up perfectly. Then they jam up. Seen many many cars lwith this issue. Have at least 10 speedo's with this problem! Bob
  7. The oil pump cover originally used a square O ring to seal the cover. I have replaced a lot of these on flatheads over the years. Bob
  8. A video of close up details and a thousand pictures is a must too! Bob
  9. Chrysler started the padded dashes in 1949. All models had it. Bob
  10. I temporarily install (10) 1-1/2" long 5/16" X18 studs at the ends of the pan and at the sides to help guide pan and hold gaskets properly to the block while starting the pan bolts. I also use the thread. Bob
  11. All I like about it is the Engine! 265,265,265 $$$$$$$
  12. Here is a pic of a 52 Chrysler PS generator and attached pump assembly. Plymouth is the same except a tad bit smaller. I took one off a 54 plymouth a long time ago. I'm going to have to see if I still have it! Bob
  13. Must be a B1 0r B2C 3/4ton.
  14. Ed, You bought that factory setup from me. I took it off a 56 Dodge back in the early 70's. The carb was the correct Stromberg 2BBL. Bob
  15. No picture is shown! But here is a picture of a rare 1952 Dodge B3R229 " Paccar" built 60 pqassenger buss. Has the 306ci. engine. Have had it for 15 years. Bob
  16. Bob, How bout I give you $50.00 for that old funky 610T radio head . You probably found it in the back of an old Rambler Classic for free! You'll make some money on it too! Bob
  17. I looked through 3 Dodge truck factory data books 1951- 2 and 3 and the C-1 price book on accessories- no 610T radio listed! But some other odd items were- the cable driven tach $45.00 and ash trays @$2.00, dual horns @$12.00,dome light $5.00, 2 grille guards-$2.50 -left mirror arm $2.50/Rt $3.00 Rear pickup bumper $8.00. B108 PU Low side express body $7.00 extra. Bob
  18. I think this is the type of U -joint Gene is talking about or this style of joint. Caps are 1.146" Dia. with serations around the end of cap. Width of the cross on the complete old used assembly is 3.180" and on the partially assembled new one 3.687". Bob
  19. Here is one of them "Ram Tough" Hornaments! Bob

    Thats a nice original truck!
  21. I agree 100%. You old timer hot dogs really should back down a bit. Bob
  22. The serial# on the frame is the same # that would be on the pillar data spec plate. Your serial# indictes that it is a 1950 B2F series 1-1/2 ton truck out of San Leandro. T148 engine code is only for B1 series trucks-236ci. T178 is B2F 1950 trucks with the same 236ci. engine. 4912 cab code is shown as for models B2B, B2C, and B2D cabs only. 4920 is the cab code for a b2F truck. All this info is from the September 1948 to 50 Dodge truck parts list. Bob
  23. Put my 265 in my 52 pickup in 1973-still going strong after all these years and 22,000 miles later. Radiator and front frame yoke are is the only area that needs attention. The front pulley /damper and pan will hit the front frame. I used the hot wrench and carefully remoulded the front of the frame for clearance. Now I've had the thought of putting real power in a 1/2 tonner and putting a real BIG BLOCK motor in one of these trucks- an extra 377ci out of a 1951 4 ton truck I have with a 5 speed/2spd rear end! Front fenders are the issue tough. The engine is 42" from crank flange to front pulley. I'd have to put the 1/2 ton body/box on a shortened 4 tonner frame and somehow modify the 20" wheel openings to look correct for the 16" wheels and oh well- never mind-Just dreaming! I could do it though...Hmmmm Bob
