  1. IS there a company that just makes the toppers? I have a group 27 mopar topper for my 68 T/C wagon. I just have to bring it with me when I buy a battery since it needs to fit the posts.
  2. We sound a lot a like when it comes to E-bay. I've missed some real deals over a couple bucks but you never know what the other bidders Max is going to be OR if the sniper is coming at the last second. I too like to watch the item I'm interested in, get a feeling for what they go for and then sit back and bid my max and wait to win. Sometimes I get the item right away, sometimes I have to bid on 6 or more till I finally get one for what "I" wanted to pay.
  3. Yup another vote for a ford 6. Maybe a 60-64 vintage?
  4. That really sucks. I've tried welding cast and it has never worked out for me. I've tried all the "ways" I could find but has not worked for me. $75 for another manifold is a pretty good deal I think, cost more to have a shop weld that up. Maybe keep the broken one for a spare to fix at a later date.
  5. I am unfamiliar with the headliner set-up, could you described what these are for and how they are used?
  6. Cool...Thanks for the link!! That disguise battery case is pretty nifty...
  7. Did one in a 94 ford Taurus wagon...took 2 days...11 hours...and had to remove dash, wiring, seats, etc.....I did it for $300 but cheapest shop was $1000!! So sorry I can't help but it has to be easier then what I did....Good luck.
  8. Thank you for posting those...I like to see pics of cars "Back in the day"... I want to go through all the old photo's my parents have, they inherited them form previous generations as well. I hope to come across some old pics of cars too.
  9. Sorry didn't intend for it to come out that way, the "quotes" were incomplete and came through that way. I have fixed the quotes to represent what each member was saying. Cheers.
  10. If the tank has no holes then I would just run it with a secondary fuel filter. I usually run one of those plastic clear ones before the fuel pump, and then a second fuel filter after the pump. With the clear filter you can monitor the crud being brought up into the filter and change it regularly, if needed. As for gas sitting for 6 years....it will be a bit weak, but a octane boost, or a gallon of methyl hydrate should bring the fuel up to an acceptable level. I've fired vehicles on 10+ year old gas and have not had any problems, though most don't recommend it.
  11. Wow...I just don't see why you got bent out of shape over the comments posted. They were perhaps a little sarcastic, with a bit of a good humor jibe to them, but not mean or spiteful at all. I know postings can sometime be read differently then what the poster intended, punctuation and such can sometimes cause the reader to "read" more into it then was original intended. Sorry you feel this way and I hope you stay around and post some more.
  12. I am on a few forums and find this one to be very laid back with a group of people that have a wealth of knowledge and experience. I have no seen any bullying...yet...but I get the feeling that this is not a site that promotes this kind of behavior.
  13. Alrighty....
  14. I kind of wanted to keep all the info pertaining to the work I'm doing on Fernando in one thread. Instead of having 15++ threads on different phases of the restification. Makes it easier for people to follow along at home if they can go to one thread and see the evolution of the car in one place. I know personally I like to follow peoples cars evolve, and when it's in one thread I can hunker down and just work my way through it. I can start a new one with the title I want and just continue from there if no one can change the title for me.
  15. Yup I think Moose got it right.
  16. So can a Moderator, or someone with the keys to the tower, change it for me?
  17. Just wondering where you are getting all these pics Greg?? Very cool pics though and appreciate you taking the time to post them and share with the rest of us.
  18. I have been trying to change the title on my original thread, "Greeting from New Member.." to be more in line with a project thread. I went into the "edit" part of my first post and changed the thread title to, "Project 48 Desoto..." it changed the title for that one post but not what is seen on the main forum page. I have looked through the User CP area and can't seem to find any way to change it.
  19. Very cool pic...Thanks for sharing!!
  20. Pic of the original manual 3 speed next to one of my 833OD trannies. The guy also included a nice uncracked set of intake and exhaust manifolds. He also found a set of gaskets for the old flathead as well. So now I wait for Fernando to arrive home so I can get to work on him.
  21. Took a couple of the dual exhaust modification. They modified and welded the manifold up themselves, it may not be perfect but they had been running it in the car with no problems.
  22. Here are a few pics... Home and un-strapping the motor. Motor on hoist. Didn't think that the oil bath air cleaner would blow out fluid from all the air being driven down the aircleaner, carb and intake. Made a bit of a mess but shouldn't have hurt anything.
  23. Well my new motor and tranny are home!!! A buddy and me left this morning at 6:30am and drove the 4 hours one way to arrive at the guys house to pick up the motor, tranny and stuff. Had a nice chat with the guy, go to look at their cars, a 41 dodge convertible (restored to original), 31 Model A (restored to original), 47 Plymouth (now hot rodded), and a early 70's Lincoln Continental 2dr with only 9000 original miles!! Loaded up the motor and tranny, stopped for some lunch and was back home by 3:30pm. But the tranny in my friends truck didn't do so well. 97 dodge ram Ext. cab, 4x4, 360/auto. By the time we got back home he had no 3rd gear or OD!!
  24. Very cool...Thanks for the info and pics. That barrel back door set-up is cool.
  25. Yup me too.... Welcome to the board. Great bunch of guys, with a wealth of knowledge. Good luck with your project and keep us posted on the evolution of your P15.
