  5. I wasted a ton of time working on a friend's 03 CTS...durn thing would randomly brick. Long story short, GM ran a ECM ground wire so short that the conductor strands pulled apart inside the insulator at a 90° turn around one of the heads without tearing the insulator...so intermittent ground path would lead to ECM shutdown. Ya might want to run some temporary grounds parallel to see if that might help.
  6. hmmm...the sign does not say learn to drive well
  7. Tucker on display for the buying public...low miles

  9. If batt.voltage is present at B, then amp gauge is not the problem. Here are some diagnostics from the C-1 shop manual:
  10. another Tucker on display for the buying public...low miles
  11. If the fuel pump relay is dithering, then that fuel pump might be turning on-off and fuel flow will drop to the point of stalling the engine. If the fuel pump relay and horn relay are the same part number, that's a quick swap to test either circuit...I did that on my shortbed Dakota after driving it a few years, as I rarely used the horn but that fuel pump was on purt'near every day...the truck seemed to run better in hot weather after that.
  12. Maybe some hombre a tad further to the east was spit-ballin' 🤠 These small connections are hard to clean, but plugging-unplugging several times can scrape off some crud, and dielectric grease can help seal them from further contamination. At least the weather is warmer now, so fiddling with these little dudes is a little easier cuz ya can still feel your fingers 👈
  13. what data are ya looking for?
  14. Ya might could try disconnecting the amp gauge and install a temporary amp gauge...I scored what I thought was an NOS gauge cluster years ago on eBay, turns out it was a practically new gauge cluster with witness marks on every terminal and the temp.gauge gland nut, with a non-functional amp gauge...so the original amp gauges can poop out between the terminals and the buss bar.

  16. Dad picked up this quart can of MMO from somewhere around 1975, and it has been refilled many times over the decades. It has also taken a tumble off of trucks, tractors, combines, even from a rooftop while fiddling with a TV antenna. Around 2000 it got snagged in a hydraulic linkage when the pump malfunctioned, doing a number on the can, and me and Dad thought this old thing was a goner...nope, still using it to this day, hasn't leaked a drop. Another oil can donated its nozzle cap shortly after the mishap since the original nozzle cap was kaput. With springtime quickly approaching, the yard maintenance equipment has to come out of hibernation, and this MMO can has been busy once again. They don't make'm like they used to I reckon

  18. holey schmokes were either of these plugs correct?
  19. hmmm that's odd...that earlier pic posted has the DeLuxe canister, wonder why it was removed...unless they sold it to somebody else for an exorbitant amount, I've seen restorable examples on eBay listing at $250 👀
  20. If the toe is that close, I say run with it...it may show in tire wear after 10k miles, but steering should be fine. And if your wheels ain't perfect, then tire wear will be a little off as well. My thinking is that tires are easy to replace, and as long as the brakes suspension and steering are in good shape, then spending $$$ on good tires gives the best bang for the buck rather than getting everything else perfect...brakes suspension and steering have safety margins built into their specs, so if you're close to that measurement, you're still in the safety zone. I had the front rotors turned on the Blue Bomber years ago when it was around 150k, and to get the warp out, the guy at Meineke shaved to just under minimum thickness and did not want to give them back. When I explained that I was installing new brake pads, and that the previous pads lasted 75k, so it would be several years before the calipers might be getting close to popping the pistons out of their bores, he took my $$$ and handed me those freshly turned rotors
