  1. My deepest sympathies on your terrible loss. I'm sure she would be proud that you finished the truck as a tribute. You did a great job. Pat
  2. I read an article saying that it took about 1.5 liters of regular diesel to produce one liter of ethanol. Not to metion the hit the food chain will take. I don't see it as an answer at all. We have had ethanol blend available for over 10 years now and it doesn't seem to be catching on. I used it in my 1985 Pontiac 350 and didn't notice any drawbacks. I guess maybe there is no one solution but maybe a bunch of solutions. Maybe I'll write to Al Gore and see what he says.
  3. This beauty is for sale locally here. It is in almost perfect shape and looks great. A bit pricey but likely worth it. http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-1976-Dodge-1-2-Ton-Survivor-W0QQAdIdZ26607122
  4. "We want to preserve the car, not restore it," Foster said. "We're not going to replace any more pieces than we have to get it 'up on its haunches.' " I was glad to read that. Restoration just made no sense. Unrestored and stabilized, if I got the opportunity to see it, I would. If it was restored I wouldn't bother.
  5. "SALMON DAY: The experience of spending an entire day swimming upstream, only to get screwed and die." Seems all to familiar ;(
  6. Every year on November 11, Canadians pause in a silent moment of remembrance for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace. We honour those who fought for Canada in the First World War (1914-1918), the Second World War (1939-1945), and the Korean War (1950-1953), as well as those who have served since then. More than 1,500,000 Canadians have served our country in this way, and more than 100,000 have died. They gave their lives and their futures so that we may live in peace.
  7. I only got #4 right. I don't have dimentia, but that darn alzheimers was horrible till I got over it...
  8. Looks to me like Al Gore would have been a real prize
  9. the nickel and diming added up to killing the fun for me on eBay. Things like Craigs list and Kijiji and some local sites are way better. R.I.P. eBay
  10. Seems like they have tough environmental standards in mexico.
  11. It's close but still too far and I have no room or money left to go get it. Damn shame to see something that nice crushed though!!!
  12. I think you'll find we regularly discus other makes and models, notably Studebaker, Sunbeam, Nash, etc. That's what makes this place what it is. If you aren't interested in those, it's OK, most of the threads are marked with an OT (Off Topic) Heck sometimes our discussions are not even automotive related...imagine that The Mopars are sure fun but there's more to life than Mopars!
  13. Maybe we should send down some Tim Hortons for you from Canada, eh?
  14. Tim was the go to guy this past summer when he helped me track down a fuel problem with my Dodge Ram. I never would have figured it out if it wasn't for Tim's help and explanations of the tests needed to eliminate or pinpoint the problem. I wish I was closer to thank him in person. THANKS AGAIN TIM!!!!!!!!!! Pat
  15. One of my neighbors a few years ago wanted an attached garage beside his house, but the city said no. He was allowed to build a carport, however, so he did that. The next year the carport got a south wall. The year after it got an east wall. and the year after that it got a north wall with a roll-up door. Also, if you build the first 200 square foot building, then place a shipping container about 20 feet away and then roof in the gap as Norm said, the container and roof are not permanent so in most places don't need approval Then add a wall one year, and a door the next.
  16. There is this 53 Nash Ambassador in Montana...$100.00 http://montana.craigslist.org/car/470588949.html Shame to see it scrapped.
  17. Not too sure about a wood one, but this one seems quite simple and sturdy. http://www.uscartool.com/rotisserie/images/page_2.html
  18. Possibly to accommodate a box hoist? Wouldn't a longer fender interfere with raising the box?
  19. Try Ron Francis Wireworks http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000278a~Z5Z5Z5AAAPM~P280.95~~~~S27R03VLEH68146115414x~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000278a
  20. Is this one of the tractors that has GPS and can plow and seed by itself?
  21. Congratulations, Grampa !!
  22. Looks like a poplar to me, they grow like weeds up here. They can get that big in 20 years. That yard must have a quick stock turnover, huh?
  23. Wow, has it been a year for this format already???? For sure, a big thanks to Gerald for a great forum...THANKS!!!
  24. I think for those new to the old car hobby, something like this would be great. Lots of folks learn more from watching than reading, so with this plus the manual and some tools, a newby could get a real good idea as to what's involved and whether he thinks he's ready to tackle the job himself. Heck of an idea and specific to the Mopar flathead is even better
  25. Don, seems like only one speed right now... Sorry, Don, had to do it!! It's early and I'm on cheap drugs.
