  1. Glad to hear you are on the mend, Charlie...being able to walk unassisted is a great milestone. Just don't over-do it too soon!!
  2. "Get your hands OUT of your pocket and go get the broom!!!" (7rys) "Is that how you were taught to sweep a floor??" (8 yrs) "Put the tools BACK where you got them, as clean as they were when you found them" (8yrs) "You can drive here but DON'T tell you Mother!" (9 yrs) "Any damn fool can take 'em apart...show me how you'll put it back together and have it run" (13) "Nice job, son" (14) Ya, I miss the rascal too. (54)

  4. brightened up a bit
  5. Canadian Dodge (Plymouth body?) no back seat
  6. Link won't work for me
  7. My solution as well, works almost every time!!!! Incidentaly, the 1950 door jamb number is NOT a V.I.N., it's a serial number. The modern universal 17 digit V.I.N. was started around 1980. Before that it was whatever the maker decided it was as far as what, if anything, it meant and whether they matched the engine. This clerk needs to be retrained.
  8. Bill, I just wanted to say thanks for the informative posts on these old cars. I really enjoy the info and details. Have you got an old Mopar yourself? Pat
  9. Being that it was raining, I would check the dist. cap for moisture inside and also in the post for the coil wire for moisture in there as well. Some WD40 will take car of it if there is moisture.
  10. Here are a couple of close ups of my truck engine mount. Hope it helps. I left them full size for clarity, sorry to dial-up users
  11. There is a third type of front motor mount as shown here on my Industrial engine. Not sure if it was used on cars or not, The mount rubber goes on the bottom, below the timing chain cover.
  12. Hope everyone had a good day!!! Our Stampeders even won against the Roughriders!! http://calsun.canoe.ca/Sports/Football/2008/10/14/7073896-sun.html I need a nap!!
  13. The ones who created and profited from the mortgage disaster are the same guys who are now being bailed out...they aren't giving back the big profits made on them but they are taking the bailouts. They take the bailouts and go on a spa weekend, then get back and want more. And they get it. The average Joe is ignored by the bailout, he still loses his house, car, business...and in many cases, his life. But the stuffed suits lose nothing. Interesting how that works and how the average people sit back and let it happen. The upper management at the Big Three will get a bailout when the time comes and they'll still get their multi million dollar bonuses and pensions, even though they are incompetent boobs. Where's Iacocca when you need him? They need car guys to run car companies, not bean counters.
  14. GM, Chrysler and Ford have been driven into oblivion by boring beancounters who know nothing about cars/trucks. May as well merge all 3 and have it done with. The damage has been done. GM shares are at $5!!! The lowest since 1950!!! Were just waiting for the fat lady to waddle up to the mike and start singin' Sad
  15. OOPPSS..I miss the fact that some posts are from the truck forum, I use the "New Posts" button for browsing posts. I deleted the post mentioned.
  16. Never figured out some people like this. Nobody wants to buy it, he's threatening to sell it for scrap if it isn't sold and yet he turns down a cash offer for parts???? That's all it is is a parts car and when all the good stuff is gone, you take what you're offered for the rest.
  17. Is it the parklight whisker? Seems to go further around the fender than normal.
  18. Valid points, Norm. Still, very sad to see all those parts gone forever. If it was a hunk of artwork by some whacked out artist, the gov't would fork out millions to preserve the past for the future generations. Old cars are just junk, until they are restored, then they get the OOOH's and AAHH's.
  19. Wow, are they ever nice! They look very majestic on that particular street. Welcome to the forum.
  20. Bob, if the firewall tag is there, the 49 is a C45. That grille is getting very very hard to find, or even parts of the grille and the little "whiskers" that wrap around the front fenders, as well as the bumper guards. The dash is getting rare as well. Might be worth buying to resell those parts if they are there and in good shape. These are all the same as the 49 T&C $$$$ The back fenders are 49 only to accommodate the wraparound bumper, the gravel Shields are hard to find as well as the license plate surround with the brake lights. These are not T&C items but rare nonetheless. The second series 49 was only made for about seven months, so 49 specific stuff is worth hanging on to. 1950 for comparison. 3 pce rear large rear window, taillights and rear fender/bumper are different and the grille is different.
  21. I have a 49 parts manual, but it just has Mopar part numbers, no mention of casting numbers.
  22. Looks like a 49 by the wrap-around rear bumper...50 didn't have that detail. This tail-light was 49 only as well. 1949 grille:
