Ok guys,not metallurgist but like this subject too.Another subject I had studied yesterday was about cast iron(2,0 to 3,5% cabon),steel(0,05 to 2,0% carbon),each identification(by emeryl),why to use one and other in the parts of truck?.Now asking to this metallurgist guys"Do you have a good table explaining this subject to us?"
  6. Hunh! Never too old to learn. I like more this thinking.Guys I was yesterday looking my WWII GMC CCKW 353 6x6 2 1/2 ton 1944 sequence(TM10-1563) from november'15 1942,it has all for helps a good driver.Of course,we never have all in our mind,like says this thinking above.Only to say for you,I solved a big ignition fault in my Jeep Willys 1/4 ton 4x4 1942 engine two years ago,looking all the sequence wrote in this GMC manual for find the problem.I am liking more of this manual.If JIM wants that I continue the sequence I will wrote all of it.I dont know if you understood my english,ok?
  7. 1)Starter cranks engine with normal speed.....2)engine does not start....3)Disconnect spark plug cable and hold 1/8" from engine,while starter cranks engine....4)Now we can obtain 3 situations(no spark,Weak spark,Good spark)....a)No SPARK....check all primary(first) and secondary circuit(LOOK OUT FOR CONDENSER) Jim do this first and tomorrow we will see the NEXT sequence.

  21. Now I did all perfectly,with more experience,it became very very good.Began with a 4mm drill,after a 6,5mm,until a 8mm(last).After passed the two "machos" and put a new 3/8"x16G bolt.I prefered to put a 16G,not 24G which is the original thread.

  23. Yes Dave72dt,like you wrote"a 3/8 " bolt would normally been drill with a 5/16" bit here in the U.S. or in your case a 8mm bit". 5/16=7,938mm,almost 8mm.Thanks.

  25. I drilled the hole with a 9 mm drill.When I put the 3/8"=9,525mm bolt it became with a great clearance.Then I had to put a 10mm bolt.
