  1. Here is a pic from an ebay ad.....seller says original from a 48 Plym.
  2. I'm with you on that, actually, Ed......I like just the two guards. I have one of those grille guards that fastens to the two uprights--used it for a while, but not so crazy about it either. I like the looks of the grille and hate to put much in front of it.
  3. Am taking the car to a body shop where they will put it on their frame straightening machine.....to try and improve the right frame horn, which was damaged in an accident years ago (before I found the car). The anti-sway bar bracket was bent also.....it attaches to the horn. The bar almost touches the crossmember. But it hasn't been a big deal as I've driven the car over the past 30 some years. Bought this NOS sway bar a couple years ago....been saving it til I could get around to this task. Here's how the bracket has been the last umpteen years. Will be interesting to see if there is any noticeable difference in handling.
  4. But Ed, just think----that center guard would be real handy for pushing other vehicles. Ever notice how scratched up the bumpers are on many of these old cars?? I think that came from either them pushing someone, or someone pushing them when the old buggy wouldn't start.
  5. They call themselves the Chrome Shop Mafia. They take a semi tractor nominated by some person and give it a going-over. Think we saw the most recent one a few nights ago at the Ramada Inn. Not sure which brand of truck it was, but had been painted purple, with some gold and white decor items. Neon lighting below the runningboards and front bumper. Came out very nice looking. The series is running on C M T.
  6. The glove box is rectangular......some of it goes in the opening, Or it may all go outside of the opening.Been a while since I put mine back in. They are a bit of a pain to work with. You may have had the correct one.
  7. Certainly looks fixable. Appears to be in possesion of most or all its parts. Saw an ad for one of these somewhere not long ago for (I think) $15,000...which would be a pretty good buy as they go nowadays.
  8. Fred, could you use just regular trim clips that fit securely into the grooves of the stainless part, rather than the strip? Seems as if that should work. It usually holds on the rest of the trim. There are some around like this with a stud and a nut. These were listed as for a Dodge.
  9. Cool....Tim. Now you can make it look like this: Or maybe this: Or a nice stocker: Well, anyway, another fun project for you.
  10. Bob, I've met at least 3 people who participate in this forum. They have all been good guys and fun to talk with. Have spoken on the phone with a couple more....same deal. Old MoPar folks are the best.
  11. Sounds like phishing.....he said "your classified"....like you had a classified ad on it. So, if not for sale, where does he get the classified thing? And that urgent business along with "certified bank check" all shouds pfishy. (Here's my 2 cents worth, in this certified check for 3 cents...please send the change)
  12. on ebay, of course. No bids yet. Just tossing it out in case anyone has not found it in the seller's store....and needs one. Link to the ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-MOPAR-1954-56-DODGE-TRUCK-HEAD-LITE-SWITCH_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42606QQihZ004QQitemZ140050352174QQtcZphoto
  13. If interested, it is for sale, have details. Not mine.
  14. This Dodge coupe. A '47 Mercury Ute. And a nice '50 woody wagon.
  15. That sure does look like some Ford grafted on.
  16. Nice background. P15....pretty sharp in N Dak A different looking '39. Or a '61 Valiant.
  17. I revised the original post and added a picture.
  18. This is an '81 Chevy engine in a '53 Plymouth old skool custom. An overall shot of the car. Link to the ad... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1953-PLYMOUTH-CUSTOM-LEAD-SLED-HOT-ROD-RAT-ROD_W0QQitemZ140049844879QQihZ004QQcategoryZ6387QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  19. Plus $8 shipping. Was watching to see if it would sell and the price if it did.
  20. Wow.....glad you're doing ok now. Those things can change a person's outlook and a few other things along with it. Hopefully it won't interfere with the music playing. Bob
  21. I think I bought 17 or 17 1/2 yards for the convert.....for seats, panels and (i think) inside of trunk....on advice from the upholstry guy. The material is still sitting there.....has not been installed yet as I decided it is not quite the color it appeared in the store--therefore not quite what I want. So, not sure how many yards it would actually take.
  22. 1942 model biz coupe. Real blind quarters. A little different treatment of bumper guards. Link to the ad with more pics: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Plymouth-RAT-ROD-1942-PLYMOUTH-BUSINESS-COUPE-HOT-RAT-ROD-CUSTOM_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6387QQihZ007QQitemZ170045906770QQrdZ1 The blue car on the bottom appears to be a two seater. Look at the difference in the trunk lids and the slant of the door edges. I suppose sedan doors would fit with the roof behind them modified. And the rear window looks straight along the bottom with an arched top...wierd.
  23. I would think both locations could be used. If you get something going with a Pilot House guy, maybe you could agree to use the other area to talk. Surely it can't be real difficult about this matter.
