  1. 1976, 34 years ago, 16 years old. She is now a commercial jet pilot. Don't mess with Miss Mary!
  2. WOW!! I heard from Miss Mary, who owns the family heirloom 1947 P15 Woodie. that she also owns an AD Chevy Pickup. Small world that a few of us own a Plymouth and a Chevy Pickup. We have to get blueskies back into a Plymouth to keep the tradition going. Miss Mary has owned "Willy" her 1949 Chevy pickem up truck since she was 16 and has driven it all over the country. She restored it herself, as a teenager. You just can't make this stuff up.
  3. I found a few more pictures from this year's Route 66 Fun Run.
  4. Great Route 66 gift. After going on the Route 66 Fun Run, this year, I have a deeper appreciation of the history, stories and sights of Route 66. I plan to be on Route 66, at least once every year, just to soak in more of the nostalgia.
  5. Hey Bob, I really like your convertible resin model. I get a lot of nice comments about PLYWOOD's mini me. My less than skilled camera work didn't do the little justice, but you all got the idea.
  6. I really like that trailer!! Gives a great idea/dream. When I win the lottery, I am going to have a large barn/garage, to store some old cars, for myself and others. I think it would be very cool to have a refurbished/restored older camper trailer inside the big old building and use it for an office.
  7. I bought the resin model on ebay, they show up every once in a great awhile. I had a fellow member of the National Woodie Club, who specializes in creating matching Woodie models from photos, make this resin model into a one-of-a-kind miniature duplication of PLYWOOD. I searched on ebay for seven months to find the resin kit. The model, sitting up on the rear package tray gets a lot of comments at car shows. The judges at the car show, where I won the Orange/Black Piston Rod/Valves, first in class trophy said the little model showed them how much I enjoyed my car. Care has to be taken to avoid heated conditions to prevent distorting the model; so I don't have it out on warm to hot days. The model also has an engine, muffler, exhaust pipe and gas tank. The wood components are real wood on the PLYWOOD mini.
  8. Too funny, that $50 is my secret mad money that I keep in my wallet for unexpected surprises. I just couldn't resist using it for a photo scale prop.
  9. A few photos of the 1:24 scale resin custom model of PLYWOOD and a few of my favorite PLYWOOD trophies.

  12. 66 minutes, according to my abbacus.
  13. Yes, this is an excellent series of hard copy, auto photo books with great information.
  14. Hi, After breaking a bone in my left arm, the radial head, I was having physical therapy to prevent the left elbow joint from becoming locked. I started reading the waiting room copy of Cars of the Fifites, which I really enjoyed, seeing all of the great pictures and write ups about so many cars, for each year of the 50's decade. Well, I went online to see if the same author and sponsor of the 50's book had printed a 40's book and it turns out they did. The book is CARS OF THE FASCINATING '40S, by the auto editors of Consumer Guide, copyright 2002. I found a very good condition copy on Amazon, for which I paid $15 and the book is as good as new. Just before I placed this thread, I looked on Amazon to see if there are more copies available and there are. New copies range $40 - $377 and used copies range $10 - $102. Along with the Chevys and Fords, there are just a boat load of MoPars, Hudsons, Nashes, etc. This is a wonderful hard bound auto historical picture book and just packed with photos and descriptions, history, etc. My copy is 320 pages of wonderful car stuff from the Fascinating '40s. I give this book five stars out of five stars. No thanks required, just more of my modest, wonderful service to mankind. http://www.amazon.com/Cars-Fascinating-40s-Challenges-Changes/dp/0785362746 Charlie, getting ready to take photos of PLYWOOD's Mini-me resin custom made model, stay tuned
  15. I really like Orphan Car Shows. October, 2008, PLYWOOD won a "MOST WOOD" homemade, handmade wooden trophy, 5"x5"x3", of a 1920's generic style cabriolet coupe. So far, it is my favorite trophy for PLYWOOD. At that particular Orphan Car Show, I saw vehicles I didn't even know existed. My favorite was a very pristine 1937 Hudson Terraplane pickup. You can Google Image search Hudson Terraplane and see several.
  16. Sure wood look good with some wood on it!!!
  17. Why do these old guys get away with marrying cute little girls. There ought to be a law!!! Congratulations, ya old goat!
  18. and upon further investigation, I find you are a retired fire fighter and I am a former Las Vegas city fire fighter. Now, I am also going to call on the Fire Fighter Gods to deal with your lack of conformity.
  19. You came to AZ and didn't contact me? Okay, I am going to talk to the Plymouth Gods about this serious breach in cartiquette! Deeply hurt in Hotazona
  20. Me again, do you know about the three Chevy pickup groups on Yahoo? You can't just go away, right? Let me know, if you don't know about them, Chevy PU groups. Charlie, in Plymazona, driving that RED RYDER, too
  21. On second thought, you and I still have our Chevy pickups and if you ever get to AZ, I'll let you drive PLYWOOD, just cause you have Mopar fluid in your veins. I really do know how you feel, after I lost most of my money and had to see three show quality 55 Chevys drive down the street, away from my house, in 2003. Charlie, still happy to have a PLYWOOD, after all
  22. Well, if you send me a set of keys, the buyers address and your best wishes; maybe we can somehow make the 50 find it's way back home, after a few years. Charlie Olson, just a guy who cares
  23. Being a really cool guy in a really hot state, I did a Google search on your behalf and found several remedies for your situation. I entered : sealing rubberized coatings. No thanks necessary, that is just the kind of great, standup, helpful and modest type of person I am. Charlie Olson in Plymazona
  24. Join the National Woodie Club. Their members and advertisers can help you find everything you need.
  25. Hola Ramón, tiene una muy cool en busca de marcha y me alegré de que tienes que ver el piloto de los Raiders de Oakland baja. La familia es un club de autos conocidos. Gracias por las fotos grandes. Tu Amigo, Charlie (Guerro) in AZ, driving that PLYWOOD
