  1. Hi, the Grand Canyon Region of the Plymouth Owners Club is having it's September 20th monthly meeting at Saguaro Lake; with a very enjoyable activity and some really great food. We are going on a 1.5 hour narrated boat cruise, on the Desert Belle; followed by a nice lunch at the scenic Saguaro Lake Marina Cafe(their specialty is their famous full slab of ribs). We have listed this event with the two main South West car events websites (Desert Cruisers and Cruisin' Arizona) and are hoping for a large turnout. If you are interested in joining us for the day, please email me directly at tikuayla@yahoo.com. We are considering making this our annual event because there are no other car events in the Phoenix area on a Sunday in September. This event is from 12 PM - 4 PM, approximately. Hope to hear from you local MoPar Heads. Charlie in Gilbert
  2. John, I am saddened to hear of your loss and encouraged to learn from your wisdom. "Time is too slow For those who wait, Too swift For those who fear, Too long for those who grieve, Too short For those who rejoice, But for those who love, Time is eternity"
  3. Hi Mopar Heads, I learned of a man in the National Woodie Club who makes authentic looking miniature woodies on 1/24 scale models, from scratch. He can make a model for me of PLYWOOD, if I can locate a 1/24 scale model kit. There is an existing 1941 1/32 scale kit available, but that is too small and not a P15. Does anyone know of a source for P15 1/24 scale model kits? Or any suggestions? Thanks, Charlie in AZ
  4. Hi All, I received this heads up email via my Chevy Truck Yahoo Group. Seems like a movement, to strongly support, to remind us that we are all in this together; whether we like it or not. Your support and spreading the word would be a good thing. Thanks. SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2009: JOIN THE NATIONAL MOVEMENT TO DISPLAY AS MANY AMERICAN FLAGS, AS YOU ARE ABLE, TO COMMEMORATE THE 8TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ATTACKS ON 9/11/2001; THANK YOU.
  5. Five years ago, as I was down sizing things in my own life; such as going from seven cars (two every day vehicles and five collector cars) down to three (one everyday and two collector vehicles) I came upon a realization and coined a life motto, from the experience: A SIMPLIFIED LIFE IS A SIGN OF A SECURE MIND. Now, I enjoy having the two remaining toys more than I did when I had five toys (sort of a less is more concept) and I have the pleasure of knowing some one else is enjoying and taking care of those other five toys. Life isn't about stuff, it is about what you let stuff do to you.
  6. Very cool ride and really great pics to enjoy. Thanks for taking the time to share with the group.
  7. Hey All, I am going to make next years, 2010, Route 66 Fun Run; first weekend in May. Hope many of you can try to make one the many Route 66 Cruises/Parties/Events next year. We aren't getting any younger. Here are some great Route 66 musical variations I found on YouTube, Best to all, Charlie in Hot-as-Hell-azona
  8. Hi, thanks for letting me know the link doesn't work. Would someone be able to email Jodi and ask her to send you photos of the red truck so you can put them on this thread for all to see? Thank you.
  9. RED TRUCK UPDATE: here are some photos from the Old Chevy Truck Yahoo Group of Tony and Jodi's 48 Chevy PU http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Old_ChevroletGMCTrucks/photos/album/1966088707/pic/list
  10. RED TRUCK UPDATE: an email from Jodi to the Yahoo Old Chevy Truck Group; First all,, I am deeply moved by all your emails, it has brought tears to my eyes and there is not enough words to deeply say THANK YOU!!! GOD BLESS all of you for your outreach of love and support, our address is: Jodi Perez 219 North Elm Conway, MO 65632 Maybe I can surprise Tony during his deployment of figuring out how to but the truck together myself, Again, Thank you so very much, You have no idea how truly this matters and means to our family. With Deep Love Jodi Jodi's email is: fanceface24@yahoo.com; she would love to receive your kind and supportive emails. Please reference "Charlie in AZ, Army Vet, Old Chevy Trucks" so she'll know from where the emails are originated. Thanks
  11. YEA!!! Another cool Plymouth Rocks!!
  12. Hi Ed, maybe we could put a Dodge emblem on the hood? Jodi has received several emails of support and "the check is in the mail" messages from concerned Folks.
  13. Hi, I am a member of two old Chevy pickup truck Yahoo Groups. A young man in Missouri is having to sell his prized red 48 Chevy pickup, because he needs the money for his family, before he re-deploys to Afghanistan with his National Guard unit. I have challenged the members of the Yahoo truck groups to each send this young man $20, or more, in the hope that he might receive enough funds so he won't have to sell his family heirloom pickup truck. Would each of you look into your heart and see if you can support this grass roots cause by sending them $20 or more if you feel inclined to really support one of our troops and his family. If you want to send Tony and Jodi Perez a truck saving donation, their mailing address is 219 North Elm, Conway, MO, 65632. Thank you for your consideration of helping a young serviceman keep his truck. FYI: I just started this fund raiser campaign last night and Jodi has already received many emails of support and pledges. She is simply overwhelmed with the out pouring of support and sent a deeply felt thank you to the group. Thank you all most sincerely, Charlie Olson, Army Vet
  14. Yep!!! It just dawned on me. A nice set of ribbed trim rings and some vintage style tasty pin stripping on the car, in the color of the wheels, would just make this car snap. The pin stripping would give a nice purposeful finished look with the contrasting color. Not too over done, but enough pin stripping to draw the color of the wheels to the observers eye. Maybe even a third color subtly in the pin stripping to be a half way color between the body color and the wheel color. Just my perfect HO.
  15. That oval shaped fixture is the side mount antenna base
  16. I had the pleasure of knowing Chico Chism, an old time/long time Blues drummer. He died two years ago and BB King came to his memorial service. I just hope BB King lives for a long time more; really a nice man...
  17. If it is priced right, buy it. Do a super duper job of detailing it; fix, tune, or repair for safety features, keep as original as possible and drive it. Just make sure it isn't a hidden rust bucket.
  18. I came across this photo as I was researching possible weekend getaway road trips in AZ. flickr.com/photos/9394028@N06/2322164381/
  19. After dinner tonight, I came on P15D24 forum and clicked on this thread. When I clicked on the photo link and saw the bronze colored coupe crushed by the fallen tree, I was so startled that I almost lost my dinner. I certainly hope no one was hurt during that storm(?)/incident. Darn.
  20. In every high dollar tri-five Chevy restored to original, the spare tire has the manufacturer sticker on it; in addition to the jack instructions sticker on the side of the trunk wall.
  21. Yep, that is a very nicely done Phantom, from what I can see in the photos. I would like to see more pics, so I think I'll email the seller and ask for some.
  22. SORRY FOLKS, it is already sold. Darn!!!
  23. You might try locating a glass shop that works on collector cars for some advice. They have probably seen and/or worked on cars like yours, in the past.
  24. Hi Guys, I was looking at possible buys for Tom, a new guy, for parts for his basket case P15 and I came across this really great 1948 P15 in Prescott AZ, asking price is $7800. I would buy it in a minute, if I had the room and money to do so. It is in the Phoenix Craigs List site, cars and truck for sale, posting number: 1178858840 If some one is interested, I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to drive up to Prescott to look it over. Sure wish I had the money to buy this gem. New paint, new chrome, 2 two barrels, headers, dual exhaust and front disc brakes.
  25. OMG!!! There is an absolutely Cherry 1948 resto rod 4 door, stock looking with header, dual exhausts, 2 carbs, front disc brakes, new paint and chrome asking price $7800 in Prescott AZ. If I had the money, I would buy it yesterday. It is on Craigs List under Phoenix.
