  1. elaborate, please.
  2. Last weekend I was in Bennington, VT for a job interview. I was cruising around the town seeing the sights when at the end of the street was an old style gas station all lit up. It would have been a great photo op if I was driving the plymster. As I drove by slowly I noticed "Hemmings Motor News" on the front. I was unaware at the time that their headquarters is located in Bennington. Now I really have to get the old girl working for a road trip.
  3. Truth hurts, and yes those pants do make you look fat.
  4. Steel sheets work just as good and are alot cheaper. Cut out all the cancer and fab a piece to fit what you've cut out. Weld in new metal and enjoy. Be sure to paint or coat the new stuff to prevent rusting. Your flooring will cover up the fact that it isn't exactly the original shape.
  5. Its just the burlap rubbing on the metal parts as the seat flexes when weight is applyed. I wouldnt have expected that much of a mess underneath though. As for a fix there are three that come to mind; -Dont sit on the seat, -Spray some adhesive to catch the fall out -Attach a board or cloth underneath like you would see on a chair in your house. Hope that is helpful.
  6. On a message board? Me thinks Jill is involved.
  7. From all the full gas tanks of all the other cars that dont work.
  8. Is this a planned thing or just got lucky when you posted?
  9. 8K? Let me know when he gets to 10K. Congrats!
  10. Its on the title bar of the window for me. We did it! 101!
  11. Bump to try and break 100!
  12. That looks like it may work. What are the dimentions? I'm currently looking for something to use for my window wiskers. Keep us updated.
  13. Doesn't the jeep have a straight six option? Wouldn't that be close to what you are talking about?
  14. To quote a friend from HS. "Your car will run after nuclear armageddon if you give it gas and a spark."
  15. I've aways wondered the opposite. How efficient could you make a new car if it was as simple as our old ones. Remove all the smog controls, motors for the head rests, 17 speaker sound system, ect. Drop all the restrictions to the engine breathing and get rid of the parasitic loss of all the toys. All while having a lighter engine and body all optimally designed.
  16. Mine looks like the wooden one except I have a steel arm that is ground flat so that I know if the shoe cocked. My method is the same as stated above. Adjust the major adjustment with the drum on untill the shoe rubs then take the drum off. Using the tool adjust the shoes so they are the same as the max diameter established prevous. Takes a few goes but works really well and its cheep. More money for chrome.
  17. I like how there is a nice distribution, as the age goes up the numbers of you go up. I'm 26, had the car sence I was 17. Use to be my daily driver in HS now she is getting a face lift to her former glory.
  18. Nice map, I remember there was another that someone started. Could you import that data in yours? What happens if someone moves, can you move the marker? I may be relocating and don’t want to have multiple markers or one that is in the wrong spot. Would it be possible to send out a pm to everyone to notify them or get this a sticky so it doesn’t buried in the pages of posts and forgotten?
  19. "...Beyond the potential historical value, would make a great hotrod..." :(
  20. kinkos would do it or any other art/photo place can print big. An issue would be the original image size and how far they can blow it up before it gets grainy. They will also print it so that it dosnt fade like an on your desk ink jet print would. Idk if I like the cleaned up one, the yellowed would look like its an old poster if you printed it. 50th post...
  21. Cant argue with that. /End
  22. Wow that is a really nice looking car. No pitting at all on the chrome; must be nice. Mine isn't painted but I think I like the ship background red. It makes it stand out.
  23. Whats the differences between the plymouth, dodge, desoto clocks? The plymouth one is very nondescript. If the others are similar and the same dimensionally, something is better then a hole in the dash. As for having them work I found that if you set the time and then hit the dash above the clock it will work for a bit or at least make some clock-like noises.
  24. Id have to agree...the radio area looks odd. Perhaps finishing the chrome trim loop would make it fit in.
  25. Sorry about the lurking. Please don't get a restraining order. I've been in hibernation over the winter as the garage isn't heated. I will be collecting parts and information on getting my windows back in with all the proper seals. Hopefully I'll get pictures in process to share. Thanks for all the great information, and some good chuckles from OT.
