  1. I see them at Horkey for $46 ea steel and $77 ea. stainless
  2. does anyone know of a source for the one ton bed side strips, the part that goes around the fender tubs? I can find lots of generic straight strips but looking for the left/right curved pieces in the middle.
  3. no, unfortunately a lot of the filming was over two days and I just couldn't justify the time off from work, that definitely would have been fun.
  4. still on my to do list is painting my truck, but last fall I was asked if it could be used "as is" in a TV series, the black primer and subtle look was exactly what they wanted. Anyways the show is called the Man in the High Castle and last night I watched episode two "Sunrise" and my truck is in the opening credits parked in Cannon City, then later on you can see it driving around in the background of two other scenes.
  5. thanks Don, I didn't think I had that right.
  6. I'm not an expert but I think you will only see the piston crown? I think the valves are off to the side?
  7. not sure what price you want to get to, but Rockauto sells wheel cylinders for $17.35 each, and if they are salvagable rebuild kits for $6.00
  8. halogen conversion on the 12volt, makes the headlights sparkly. You can't see in this photo but the lens is basically flat.
  9. nothing like a half ton of gifts
  10. not sure of the wording but here is a photo. Mine is crank, then a collar on a spring that pushes back to reveal the pin that holds the crank, and then there is a round cover maybe an estcuheon.
  11. My truck (with the rims black) has been going this Spring and Early summer to the set of the "Man in the High Castle" I believe the freedom fighters are driving it, but not sure. The production company flat decks it to and from the set (it is insured and I drive it to work) and pay a daily rental fee. But I really can't wait until it comes out to see if it gets any decent airtime. They left my IBEW sticker in the window.
  12. 228 3.375 4.250 228.1 CI 1937 Chrysler/1937-1941 DeSoto/1942-1952 Dodge Custom (CDN)/1953-1955 Plymouth/Dodge (CDN) there was a 228 used in the above
  13. Not sure if reading this right, the top part is the question, and 1and2 are possible solutions? Step one, is to make sure the battery is fully charged and in good shape, if it is old/weak you will get a few good cranks and then nothing. Two- when checking for spark, I never hold anything, I usually use a vise grip to hold the spark plug to the block ( I hate shocks, even hate the thought of a shock) other than the usual, checking the condition of the plugs, gap etc. I found with my PH I had a bad ground where the wire came through the casing of the distributor (on a post). I changed, plugs, condenser, coil as I had intermittment and weak spark. Finally I saw that the bakelite insulator had broken off, I used the plastic from a disposal pen to make a small insulated tube, stuck into into the distrubutor and started. Still running today
  14. thanks guys, flying out tomorrow.!
  15. neat photo, I wonder if sections were deeper cause it looks like the cars could make it. Also gotta love the old timers, road floods you just train the cars through, ride on the flatdeck and no big deal. You just do!
  16. flying into Indianapolis for the nascar race with my 24yr old son. Other than the race/trackside musuem and drinking does anyone have any visitor recommendations. BTW we both like old cars of the Mopar variety
  17. If air is coming in, when it is running then gas can go out when not running, so you should be able to smell the gas leak. But for testing I would try more air. I would remove the gas cap at the tank wrap a rag around the air hose and add a bit of pressure, and listen for a hiss or bubble along the fuel line? As Jeff said if this occured after a change thats the first area I would be looking at for a crack, leak disturbance.
  18. went to the ocean on the fourth, traffic was crazy busy and we (the Pacific Northwest are in a heatwave) so photo taken allowing a little bit of ocean breeze passed through engine bay.
  19. see this at Anacortes WA. not sure if parked or if it is driven around?
  20. like the truck, like the topic header. Good for the both of you for making/taking time.
  21. I believe the oil filters were a bypass filter connected on lines. If no oil filter there should be a plug that caps off the threaded line in the block. Just use teflon tape on the plug. I know you say "where the oil filter attaches" but do you mean the passenger side of the block? in the photo the lowest part in the picture is kinda of octagonal.
  22. permatex black super weather adhesive
  23. very nice. PS: only 10 more days to Mad Max!!
  24. cool. I had the 253 in Pontiac Ventura, glad to see it works way better as a chainsaw!!!!
