  1. try this one, Rod Stewarts Hot legs on youtube. I wanna know how the guy drove a straight line I just watched the 1965 clip, that is funny on three levels. I guess it must of been an R rated film in '65
  2. bin following you from the start, thanks for the update, 1) it looks great, 2) personally they are never done:D
  3. thanks merle, I never knew this. And Fernando, I haven't measured the right side, but it is alot more visible on the left
  4. theres 3" measuring from the tread to the edge of the fender on the front, and 7.5" from the tread to the edge of the fender on the back
  5. Is it just me or are the rear tires not centered in the opening? It looks like the they are closer to the front. (attached photo borrowed without permission)

  7. I am in need of steering wheel ( i have a 48 Fargo truck) but wanted to know what size wheel the cars had? Are they 18" with a 11/16th splined center? Not having much luck finding a truck wheel.
  8. are the car steering wheels 18"? I need a new wheel, and it looks like the original is just 11/16th with a splined centre (no keyway). Does anyone know what steering wheels are compatible?
  9. wow, I am moving there. I pay $1200 for basic, plus fire and theft, no declared value. If something happens we start to fight on its value then.
  10. thanks very much, on my way to the store.
  11. I searched through lots of posts on Kingpins, but still am not sure. The shop manual I have for 1950 lists .795 diameter kingpins and .936 and 1.12" . The ones in my truck at .795 but all of the napa/rock auto etc list .873. Even with the difference in before and after serial numbers there is still is not list for .795 So does anyone have a part number or source for .795 or do you machine shop ream to fit .873?
  12. Hank, that's interesting, when I got my truck I was lucky enough to have keys and working lock, but the door key was stamped Ford. It is the squared shape as in your post, I always thought that someone used a Ford blank to make the key, but now I guess the entire lock is Ford.
  13. do you have a heat shield ?
  14. thats a good idea, do you mind if I "borrow it"
  15. looking good. Did you have much trouble with the exhaust clearing the steering?
  16. just looking to touch bases with you!
  17. its all in the numbers (well letters too)if it is a B1 then it is a 49 a B2 is 50 etc same with size b is 1/2 ton c 3/4 d 1 one ton
  18. the canadian ones are in french:) I think it is just the block length, but that usually only applies to the 218.
  19. not sure if the its the same for the '49 but on mine there is a connector block (three wires in, three wires out) on the driverside frame, it was disconnected here.
  20. drivers side should be #12 blue, and passenger side #16 blue and the passenger side goes to the fuel sending unit in the tank (unless you are in australia)
  21. yes you were only supposed to enter and exit from the passenger side for safety. The fun part is the Australian PH's have the lock in the left door (passenger side for them)
  22. because you are the one ton, it is the single cylinder front and rear, with adjusters on the bottom, note position of the arrow, and adjusters on the top. It may be stuck but there is quite a bit of adjustment with the drums on.
  23. prolly the carter, look at this link http://www.carbkitsource.com/carbs/tech/Carter/BB-index.html mine was the BB downdraft second picture
  24. do you feel like making two more!!! they look great
