  1. Yep, That is where I like running my tire pressures.
  2. Tires in the air and all is very easy and smooth. I do have a little play (3:00-9:00) that seems to come from the steering box. Grabbing the tires and turning them is easy and smooth. I do not see any play in any of the linkages except the pitman at the gearbox One thing I have noticed lately is when driving and using a full turn on the wheel I will hear a clunk. Could this be worn kingpins?
  3. Nope, I'm not going down the fancy/original route. My biggest concern is parking, say in a tight spot which here in England is what you get in parking lots. Grabbing the steering wheel and muscling it is quite a workout.
  4. It is getting close to replacing my tires on my 37 Plymouth. Currently, I am running 205/80/r16 Driving wise they are fine but maneuvering for parking, is a struggle. I do little highway driving and usually keep my speed around 50-55mph. I was wondering how much damage am I doing to the steering box at crawl speed (parking) and what would be a good alternative. I will be replacing the front tires first due to the cost. Going bias ply at £200+ each is out of my budget. I was thinking a 185/80/ r16 tire. It is a bit thinner than the 205s.
  5. My Wife and I would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas! 🎄
  6. Yes this does help. My car is a P4 so 67 31/32 long od: .130 cable 67" for the casing overall. Thanks. Now to get rid of this cold and start investigating.
  7. I am thinking I need to install a speedo cable in my 37 Plymouth. Currently I am judging my speed by the engine sound and at times a sat-nav. The one that came with the car was in a box and is broken. Is it possible to replace just the broken cable? I am not sure if this old one will fit my car as it was in a box with other parts that don't fit my car. What length should I be looking at and what size connections? Also, do I need to grease the cable before installing it?
  8. Is it possible to use a diamond burr on a Dremel or mag drill press to grind up the extractor? also, have you tried any heat
  9. I think Keith addressed this problem in one of his videos at Keith's garage
  10. Wait until you get to be 71, it's even less fun. Ya know it not getting down to do the job that is the problem. It's getting up! 😣
  11. Static electricity does not like humid conditions but thrives in low humid conditions. I worked as a service engineer in the printing trade and in the winter we had huge problems with static electricity.
  12. Would this be a military numbering?
  13. Back in 1970-71 my friend and I were driving around and we stopped to see the most beautiful and weird Northern light display. It was like we were in a bowl and someone was pouring red syrup on top and it rippled down and changed into different shades of green. That was in Minnesota. We used to see the Northern light every so often but never like this.
  14. My wife had a 96 Land Rover Discovery She named it Nora after Nora Batty of Last of the Summer Wine, a British sitcom Our 37 Plymouth is called, Miss Daisy My 1990 Dodge Dakota was named Aunt Sally by my wife. another British childrens show.
  15. I forgot to mention that the commutator may need to be turned down. any machine shop can do that.
  16. When you hit the foot starter pedal will the starter turn over? If it does then there is a problem with the linkage pushing your pinion gear into the flywheel If it does not turn over it could be the switch on top of the starter or the brushes in the starter itself. All of which is an easy repair.
  17. Got a meter? start checking your circuit. I am not sure but is yours a push-button start or foot-operated?
  18. The P18 was installed originally in a 1949 Plymouth car. 217.8 Cu in 97 hp the D19 was originally in a 1941 Dodge The engines were the same displacement but the dodge was 6hp less As Bob says Plymouth wins!
  19. I had to hon out my front wheel cylinders and replace new seals. They were not pitted so all worked out fine. Can you hon out your existing wheel cylinders?
  20. I have had to remove my starter twice. I was fortunate. Someone cut a slot in that bolt and I was able to remove it with a Big screwdriver.
  21. I suggest a 5 lb hammer and jam that sucker in there. 💪 With a little JB Weld you'll have no problems. 👍
  22. OOPS! Quality Control Sleeping on the Job Again.

  24. I am married to a wonderful English lady for 30 years. We moved to England 27 years ago. I have not lost my American (Minnesotan) accent.
  25. I speak in what you call American English. I darn well better I'm from Minnesota. Ya sure you betchya. lol This was a German production and is in English subtitles. I never met the actors and have no idea if they spoke English. We were directed in English. I don't know who took that picture. It was not from the film. It looks like they are setting up for the next take. The girl in red on the left was one of the directors and not in the film. It was funny to see 'Fire plugs' They must have had 4 of them in that tiny street. They were all real. They even had a newsstand with newspapers from the 1940s on it. I attached a photo of the final seen. The building on the right is where my car was parked but off-screen
