  1. This was posted on the HAMB 1936 Plymouth with odd ball disc brake conversion using no adapter plate. Anybody recognize the caliper, rotor and hub assembly...
  2. Oh okay makes sense, he makes nice linkage, I have a set. But his cast intakes are really nice pieces, but a little rich for my blood right now.
  3. Okay so why does George have your Offenhauser intake? He builds his own intakes.
  4. Just M H and made in Canada. But the Sparkplug wrench caught my eye..
  5. My new used Massey Harris Sparkplug wrench for Chyrsler flathead engines. Paid .80 for it today.
  6. Okay im way off, how long with the 265? Tell me about its power difference and power on general. I have a 265 and a nice 225 slant 6 on my shop floor too..
  7. You run a 218? Okay thought it was a 250. It most likely not enough power for your big truck?
  8. Lipstick on a pig Paul. You want the truck as quiet as my 2015 Ram and a soft ride like my Wifeys Jeep Cherokee...lol Buy some ear plugs or if you wear hearing aids turn them.down a bit...lol Now seriously how quiet do yah expect your 65 yo truck to sound and feel without going to full frame swap and complete sound proofing endeavor. Im all for making them as nice and cozy as possible within the realms of reality. Mine with dual walker glasspacks and not much insulation for the cab is damn loud you would hate it and most of our Ole Ladys too would not ride in it...lol
  9. Hey all unfortunately will not be travelling to California for the Security Conference. Budgetary constraints has put it on hold this fiscal year. Maybe next year, disappointed but im sure you all will still be having a swell time without me......
  10. Heres a parts truck for you
  11. Here are mine bought 3 sets on sunday. Just to be clear been looking for these. So on Saturday morning found them on Kijiji for 8 usd. Pounced on them.. had to wait as someone beat me to the punch but they were a no show so i got em..

  13. Well yes nicer shifting 2nd to 4th. But still a truck style, no banging gears and power shifting.....lol
  14. Okay you are replacing an NP 420 with a crash box trans? Should bolt right up.. Why ? On this swap. Okay the the more modern trans is what you want?
  15. My score of the day 8 bucks

  17. Larry great truck, why don't you tell us about it. Yes its an off topic truck, but its still a Dodge...
  18. Okay , now at least you have options and know where you stand with the Law of the local government. I know it's not a cheap solution, but you can now have peace of mind knowing what is needed to tolerate an intolerable meddling neighbor.
  19. So with my calculations based on your, "tire size", "gear ratio" and RPM, you were cruising at 57 MPH approximately on the Interstate? Or on a US Highway non divided? I know up here even on the cow trail single lane highways 60 to 65 is the norm speeds. I know many areas in many US states and on Canadian Freeways, 75 to 85 is the pace, unless all traffic is at a stand still or moving at a snails pace because of an accident..
  20. Okay is your engine the OEM 217, or is it an upgraded fresh 230? Your truck is it being used to haul it's max loads, pull trailers etc? Today's road speeds are much higher and surfaces much better. With an upgraded engine, with more power, and the fact it's not hauling heavy loads, 3.73 gears and OD might work fine in a lot of scenarios, it aint hard to shift back into 3rd non OD when needed, and cruise nice in OD when needed. Either way it sounds okay...
  21. Also in my Fargo from 40 to about 52 mph she can be a real dog in a head wind. Once she hits about 2100 rpm she goes much stronger.
  22. In my Fargo driving at say 40 mph in 4th gear and 3.23 gears no issues at say 1600 rpm. But there is much less wind resistance at 40 mph then 60 or 70 mph. But it will chug away happily at 40 mph as load is not causing it to lug. These engines do have a benefit of max torque at low RPM.
  23. With 3.73 gears and going 70 mph it would. be fine. Going out of overdrive on hills and passing and for slower speeds. Lugging is not good for the engine or fuel economy and engine temps. Over 2100 cruising most likely fine until you hit a 7 % grade then shift outta overdrive. Driving at 1800 rpm on the highway at 60 might not be too good
  24. Tire size, rearend ratio, and rpm = speed P235 75 15 = 28.8 inches in diameter With 3.23 at 2500 RPM = 66 mph With 3.55s at 2500 RPM = 60mph With 3.73 at 2500 RPM = 57 mph 3.23 and overdrive of .71 at 70 mph = 1872 rpm 3.55 and OD =2058 rpm 3.73 and OD= 2162 rpm Anything under 2000 rpm might not be the greatest and you are getting under the powerband...
