  1. A locksmith can help. I would check if the ignition key or door key go into your trunk handle lock and have the locksmith key it the same.
  2. I believe they are called whiskers, I got mine From MikeCo (805) 482-1725
  3. Welcome, nice toys
  4. So what your missing is the collar and the bezel. so what I did is I found a seller on Ebay (frenchlakeautoparts) and asked if they had and would sell the complete ignition unit with all three parts. switch, collar and chrome bezel. You might be able to find the same setup and retain the proper wiring for your car. Happy hunting
  5. I've used Inline Tubes, I think the fuel line was about $80, not cheep but a perfect fit.
  6. I just went trough the same thing on the 54 Plaza, look at my post on June 3, here's a pic of the complete unit
  7. # 3, the small hole is so you can remove the key cylinder. Insert the key and turn to the open position and at the same time insert a thick paperclip into the small hole (#3) and the key cylinder can be pulled out. The ignition switch is the same setup to remove the key cylinder.
  8. Just got the horn circuit working on the Plaza, so have you disassembled your horn ring at the steering wheel and cleaned all the contacts? Sounds like your wire in the column may need to be replaced.
  9. 1954 Plaza wagon, working on getting the wiring squared away and actually got to drive it the other day, it goes and stops on its own. It sat for many many years. Here's the new lenses I got about two years ago, almost like Christmas.

  10. After using plenty lube run the key all the way in and out of the cylinder to exercise the pins, after a while you should be able to feel the pins moving if this is the case and the key still does't work, remove the cylinder for a rekey as mentioned.
  11. Make sure you measure the smallest portion of the knurl on the lug bolt so you can drill out your hub for a tight fit when you press it in.
  12. Oh yea the lugs I used were doorman 610-446
  13. I like the direction your going (disc) but I'm reminded when I was a young guy and did this to my front drums on a 38 Dodge pickup (which I still have) only I used grade 8 bolts with no locktite. I Changed the rears on my 50 to accommodate the mags, I drilled the holes out and pressed lug bolts in.
  14. Thank you all, I think the fun is in the hunt
  15. Look what came in the mail today, the black piece is just holding it in place for the pic
  16. I just did the complete brake system on the 54 Plaza wagon, I'm a low budget guy, the hard line kit from inline tube and it was less money than just buying the lines and bending them myself, the hardline kit fit perfect. The rest I able to get from Napa or Carquest at a better price than buying from the usual vendors. used DOT 3 for fluid.
  17. Thanks, it is cool
  18. Thank You, now I know what to ask for. It's like a lot of items on this project, things were taken apart about 20 yrs ago and I'm having to piece them back together. For example the brake system , the master cylinder and all that is attached to it was removed so I had to piece it all back together, it's back on it's wheels and the brake system is done, now on to the electrical system. Oh yea here's a pic of the wagon
  19. My ignition switch is like yours in that there are no threads on it. Thats why I think I got some parts missing
  20. Is there suppose to be a tab on the back side of the dash that the switch is fastened too ? The back side of my dash has the same profile as the front side in other words, no tab. I thought the bezel might be two parts, the part the switch fastens too and the chrome part (bezel) that you see on the dash face. Bryan, thanks for the picture
  21. I need help figuring out what parts I'm missing to mount the ignition switch in the dash. I've tried looking for an exploded view to figure what I'm missing but have had no luck. Here are some pics of what I do have. The third pic is of some parts that were under the seat, may be junk or the parts I need? 1954 Plaza wagon (P-25) THANKS
  22. No I did not, but I just followed this articleHeadlights.doc
  23. Found some early bullseye headlights. After a little reworking, now have brighter LED headlights and the bonus is they look cool. Here's some before and after pics
