  1. I got all the rubber for the doors and rear hatch on the 54 plaza wagon from mike at MikeCo (805) 482-1725. He is a one man operation that has a lot of knowledge and has a lot of parts for our cars.
  2. Nice Car, keep it simple and enjoy
  3. This is what Mike @ MikeCo has . His number is (805) 482 1725
  4. The alignment pin can be removed, I used a 1/8 wafer wheel to cut them off. Ideally the new wheels will be hub-centric
  5. We had our annual cruise and show this weekend in little town I live in, someone took this picture of my 50 at the cruise and posted it on bookface, I was pleasantly surprised
  6. Take plenty of pictures while disassembly. Check for axle endplay before you start and keep track of the axle shims. I found all the parts needed at my local NAPA. If your brakes or wheel cylinders do not need replacing you can unfasten the rear axle breather and use some shrink rap to keep the assembly clean and just move out of the way so you never have to open the brake fluid lines saving time and the mess later.
  7. Really nice car , great find
  8. one nut one washer on each post, and the wires
  9. If you work on old stuff this happens, patience is what it takes to be successful with this issue. The following is what has worked for me, spray some penetrant and let sit then center punch make sure to be in the center of broken bolt. Start with a small drill bit and drill all the way through the bolt, once through you'll see how off center you are and that's ok it just limits the next size or the final size hole you can drill with out damaging the threads. Drill removing ass much of the bolt by drilling out with larger drill bit but staying away from the threads after use an easy out with success, like I said be patient
  10. Welcome, ok gotta ask what is wrong with the one you have? Do you need one axle or the complete rear axle, maybe someone near you reads this and can help you out. your going to hear we love pictures
  11. 2nd or 3rd, sounds like a possible adjustment problem.
  12. This is one of many things I Love about this site, the wealth of information. Thanks Rich
  13. Thank you, Semmerling, I think I'll put them in a run it a for a little bit and see how the motor performs, then pull the plugs and check them and maybe check the cylinders with a bore scope. I'll let you guys know how they work out. Thanks again
  14. Yes, I was hoping to ad to the neck snapping power of our cars. Twin Fire
  15. Hi Guys, so I got these spark plugs and would like to see if they fit my 50. They are Wizard L1084-33 I have searched and did't get much more than they were sold by Western Auto. I thought someone here might have some early catalog or something to identify their application. Thanks
  16. Great work on the wagon. Good to see it is being used what it was built for.
  17. Welcome, Nice ride
  18. Welcome, your not alone we are all still learning new stuff about these cool old cars.
  19. Should't they all be lower than stock?
  20. You might try Mike in camarillo (805 482 1725). MIKECO is the name of his ebay store but he has a lot of mopar parts. He's not far from you.
  21. Nice ride, Welcome
  22. I've used Fastenal for shipping heavy stuff cross country. Motor has to be in a crate (load and unload with a forklift) and you can't be in a hurry but they were the best price that I found.
  23. I'm not sure I understand your question. The 4.11 is a lower gear ratio than the 3.91, IMO the 3.91 with stock size tires will get you down the highway with the motor purring, the 4.11 would be for more around town.
  24. Take measurements on the width of each rear axle and find the difference if any, in the Hollander it shows that 1953 and early 1954 are the same. The gear ratio is stamped on the carrier.
  25. I had the same issue on the 54, it came down to bad contacts in indicator itself I disassembled and cleaned the contacts and now work like they should. Of course this was after hours of checking, cleaning, replacing all the bulbs, and doing all of the above.
