  1. I'm going backwards, but pulled my brothers frame out from the field (it was only there a bit, lol). I dusted it off for the Truck Show in April, let it sit on the ground. I picked it up (with help) and cleaned it so more. Finish I shall !!! Happy Memorial Day! 48D

  2. The Mach I is 98% complete, weather tight and has been moved outside making room for the B3B to come out of storage and into my work space in the garage. I've had the front sheet metal off and been doing some work on it as well as resurrecting the tailgate and loosely assembled them back on. Lots to do. At least it's back inside.

  3. I’m in the middle of putting a T5 in my truck and following John-T-53 Project T5 so on Saturday I installed the transmission mount ( Trans-Dapt #9444 ) and attached the battery ground cable to the transmission, getting the driveshaft shortened this week and still need to fab a bracket for the e-brake.

  4. IMO which GL oil to use is no different than a motor oil discussion. It's basically a religious argument based on empirical evidence mostly from reading labels, manufacturer's claims, and seat of the pants experience. Bottom line use what you're most comfortable with. I agree use the correct weight though. Having said that if you ask why GL-5 and other more modern lubes were developed it wasn't because the industry said we need a better lubricant for a 1930s, 40s or 50s 3 speed transmission. It was because lubrication requirements of the machines changed as technology advanced. A more modern transmission has different operating parameters. It operates under multiple times more horsepower, much higher rpms, tighter machined tolerances, more complex design, extreme heat cycles, and so on. Is a GL-5 backwards compatible with a transmission that originally used GL-1? Probably. Will that transmission benefit from GL-5, especially in the long term? Who knows. Most of us don't use these cars for daily drivers, so we're not subjecting the transmissions to extreme use. Given the relatively low operating parameters of our transmissions, who knows if the superiority of a GL-5 will have any benefits in an active way? Most likely condensation from sitting around most of the time will do more long term damage than your choice of lube. Just do the proper preventative maintenance and the transmission will probably out last you regardless of your lubrication religion.

  5. Steering wheel gets two coats of Glossy "Crystal Clear" Clear coat. This is just kind of mocked up "back together", Kinda wished I'd picked up my tools before taking this pick. And a before pick. (not a terribly good before pick but I didnt think of taking one before starting out on this venture

  6. In the garage today and I did add a braided ground cable from the positive battery term to the radiator frame. Starter cranked stronger. Also, grounded the heaters to body. Heaters turn MUCH faster. I might be mistaken but it seems that the amp meter is also running steady. it used to bounce just slightly negative at idle Productive day in the garage
