  3. Wonder if that ranch was in California. Seems like either arroyo or barranca are the terms used in Southern California. In Southern Arizona it would be a "wash".

  4. I sure like the idea of a Sat. or Sun. morning coffee/breakfast get together for all in So Cal who could make it,....maybe even some from San Diego and/or Ventura. I'd be more than happy to organize, figure a location and time and communicate to all. For me it would have to be after Christmas and pretty much on Sundays until mid Feb. I further propose that anyone with a drive-able car, do so or suffer a lot of flack Send me a note via this site or a PM (subject P-15 Coffee) and I will start the thought process

  5. My daughter recently spent the night in Tok, Alaska. It was -40. That's minus 40 degrees F and C (use those letters as a descriptor as you see fit).

  6. Good point. I carry a fire extinguisher in the trunk of my car. Many car shows require an extinguisher.

  8. carrying a fire extinguisher around is standard operating procedure in my neck of the woods...grass fires can flare up in the summer (which is about 6 months long) from hot or malfunctioning farm equipment and carrying around a fire extinguisher behind the seat can be a life saver, even on lawn tractors...be prepared

  10. thanks. Don I love your tag line about the backseats. At one point the model changed outfits, but she did it in the cab, my son (the one holding the reflector) said (loudly), "that's the most action that truck has had in 30 years". The sad part is that was actually only about 40 degrees, and everyone is in full coats and hats but the model, who kept smiling bravely. The irony was that they photographer had actually contacted my son who has a '48 Fargo painted in a midnight blue metallic, but his steering box blew apart and is back in the garage, so I was just the runner up, as Homer simpson says the two sweetest words, "De fault"

  11. More cab pictures. Billie gave me a ride in this cab from his house near Dawsonville, GA to a eatery in Dawsonville home of Bill Elliott of nascar fame. Forum member Richie Hodge met us there. Richie told the story of selling a 50 Mercury a few years back. The buyer showed up at Richies house in Atlanta, looked at the car, flashed the cash and bought it on the spot. The buyer was Bill Elliott. The picture of the three guys in front of the P-15 I posted earlier is Billy Austin, Richie Hodge, and me. Here are a few more pictures of this cab. and one of the pilothouse Billie has tucked away in his garage.

  12. http://www.gener-nator.com/ Not cheap. Also, it shows the 6v at 50 amps. I believe my generator is a 45 amp unit. Not much gain except maybe at idle. Merle
