  1. I have been PM'ing a fellow on the HAMB that just bought a stash of 30's Plymouth parts. He has not cataloged the inventory yet but the seller told him that the head in question is a factory aluminum high compression head. Research on ALL PAR shows this as an option for the early version of the 6 cylinder flathead (pre 35). He is wondering about the market for this head. So do any of you fellows with 33/34's have any interest? If so I will get contact particulars together. He has yet to establish if the head is in good working condition. I do not know if he actually has hands on it yet, so it may be a while before it is officially available. I believe the CR is somewhere in the 6.5 to 1 area I think stock was 5.5 in 33 and 5.7 in 34.

  5. There can still be oil in the front half of the OD trans but little lube in the back OD half. When the OD unit is starved long enough for oil the sun gear will make a whine and then "ZING" and seize up inside the ring or annulus gear. Then you are back into 3rd direct and no OD engagement possible although the trans works fine otherwise. . I am not saying the OP's issue is low oil though, it does need to be checked first off- both levels as already mentioned above. Bob
