I thought by now somebody would have posted something so as a "Displaced Cheesehead" I will.

I grew up in Milwaukee and first recall hearing the word Packer in fall of 1954 when my dad said to me, while listening to a large console radio, quite a minute son...I am listening to the Packers. So if listening was so important to my Dad I gave it a listen and got hooked on Packer Football at a very early age. For many seasons, until we got our TV, we would sit in the living room and listen to the vivid descriptions of the announcers and my dad would explain to me what was going on.

He took me to a game at old County Stadium in Milwaukee, amazing.

We got really lucky in 1977 and got our four Season Tickets. I did not miss a home game from that season right up through 1989 when I moved to Massachusetts. Many of these games were lousy, but some were awesome like the first Monday Night Game; Green Bay 48 Washington 47, what an air show.

I am pretty certain that I am the only resident of Medway MA that has flown a Packer flag 24 hours a day every day since September of 89 when we got here and I have withstood the crap that came with that.

All that said my flag is coming down tomorrow. The current management of the team, General and Coach, have heads up their exhaust. I am embarrassed and distraught by their actions. I lived through the likes of Lynn Dickey too long to see this Rodgers kid take the helm of this team.

As Popeye said "I have had all me can takes, me can takes no more".

Thanks for letting me sound off, I feel only marginally better but better is good.

If I was running the Packers and Farve showed up to play against us, I would show him crying like a baby at his retirement announcement on the Big Screen. (Hey do they even have one of them there screens in Cheese Stadium? ) He is one more reason why I stopped watching football regularly. Curling, there's a sport!!

As a lifelong Bears fan I have to ask, Farve who???

Well that would be the one quarterback that holds the record for the most touchdowns scored by a single quarterback in the history of Soldiers Field.

Interesting to note that Da Bears quarterbacks play 8 regular games per season at Soldiers Field and "Favre Who" only plays their once per year.

Kinda makes one wonder about Da Bears? But if Brett winds up their I will light candles to Papa Bear and become a fan. :D

Rogers may surprise you. He's no wimp.

As for Farve. how many super bowls has he won so far?

I just heard an interesting factoid; this year the game is played in Tampa... interesting.

as a non American I am following the NFL (even run a pool with some fans) but I am a bit stunned by this.

The whole thing is a sorry bit of soap.

I respected Brett for the way he played, the intensity and his abilities. But this is just plain stupid.

btw, think of selling my P15, or maybe not...

Just kidding:D He was always a pain in the saddle of da Bears. He is an amazing QB, something da Bears could never find. I think both sides should calm down. It's only a game, right?

As a long time Packer fan I'm on the Managment's side on this one. Brett's been screwing around on the off seasons for the past few years. There has been much wonder as to if he was going to retire or come back. Then he actually retires, the Packers move on, and now he want's to come back after missing all the mine camps and be the star again. I feel the same as the Packer management... "You quit, we moved forward, we're not playing your games anymore."

Latest news now is there are trade talks with Tampa. We'll see how that works out.

I find both sides mis managed this whole thing..... Favre shouldn't be "bigger" than the game, and the packers should've just let him go... this whole thing is a farce.....

I'm a long time Rams fan anyways......

I've been a Packer fan all my life, I agree with Merle,, he retired, they made adjustments. I think think they should have let him come back as the back up quarter back to keep him from going to the competition.

Just as long as he's out of our division:D . I'm a long suffering Lions fan:mad: .

I know that they won't want to trade him to anyone in the division, but I say go ahead and trade him to Detroit or Minnesota. They always said that "He can't win in a dome". So let him call Ford Field home and see what happens. ;)

I understand they offered the Jets a better deal than they did Tampa Bay , to keep him out of our division. There was a rumor, before all this happened, and before he (Bret) dicided to retire, that he had a conflict with some in management that made him decide to retire, and now he says one of the things that could not be resolved, is "personal matters"??????????

I have a box packed:

Packer Flag taken down

2 license plate frames

1 trailer hitch plug

Mens Favre Jersey - size XL

Woman's Pink Favre Jersey - one of 50 from Deana Favre

I am going to send it all to Ted (Packers GM) by the third game when Rodgers goes out with a broken something or another. I predict less they beat Atlanta (sorry to my friends), Houston and perhaps Jacksonville as a fluke. This may be the first year that Detroit beats them twice. I'm certain da Bears with either Good Rex or Bad Rex will take both as will the Vikings, Seattle and NOw Orleans will both win as well. Tampa is a toss up.

Serious no ill will towards the new starter, but Packer management screwed this up. I will make no further comment, I got to get on with my life...so I am told.
