Merle Coggins Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I've seen a couple going down the freeway. I'd feel safer on my motorcycle. I think it's more visible, and possibly bigger:eek: . Norm, there's a Smart Car dealer not too far from you (Good Hope & Hwy 45). Go buy a half dozen of them and stock up your garage. Quote
greg g Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 If you look closley at the ratings on it and competitors, It aint that smart. Gas mileage is no better than MINI, Toyota Yaris, several Kias, and others. I read a review that said even though they may be capable of 80 MPH, anything over 65 is scarry, apparently expansion strips will launch their tails around. OK gor small tropical islands, and cities, but not yet smart enough for what I need.Actually there is a pic onthe web of 4 smat cars parked in one mall parking space. all with drivers side doors facing ou. two across each end and two in the middle. 49DODGEBOY Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 saw a real nice red one in town here, had a top that came off it, made the guy inside look huge...... we have a dealer here in Riverside Quote
hkestes41 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 There was a story on the local news here in Dallas that the authorized dealer has orders that they can not fill for something like 4 months. Supply can't keep up with demand. There is a constant waiting list that grows longer each day. It is to the point that enterprising "independent dealers" are importing foreign Smart Cars and selling them in the Dallas area above sticker price. Only thing is that the authorized dealer is not authorized to work on the foreign versions. So, people who fall for the foreign get it quick cars can't get warranty work done on their cars. Quote
p24-1953 Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 One Here In Town Was Bumped On The Rear Tailight While Parallel Parking On The Street At Our Office. The Force Of The 2mph Impact Caused The Door Skin To Fall Off. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted June 17, 2008 Report Posted June 17, 2008 I've seen a few of them here in New Jersey, incuding a couple of them in heavy rush hour traffic on Route 9. They remind me of washing machines on wheels. You couldn't pay me enough money to drive or own one. Harold Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Norm, I think the most interesting thing about that dealership is that it is right next door to the Hummer dealership. Talk about Ying & Yang Quote
Young Ed Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 I heard that GM is going to either sell Hummer or just stop production. Not too surprising. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 They're on Metro Blvd. Norm. I agree, you can see them, but getting there is a bit tricky. Quote
greg g Posted June 18, 2008 Report Posted June 18, 2008 Hey I am waiting for the introduction here of the Tata. But I am waiting for the new model the Bodacious. Quote
62rebelP23 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 bodacious tatas? who'd buy them? touch 'em, maybe, look at them, but BUY them? heehheehhehehee... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 This little sporty job was in front of the museum in Nashville. Here's one for all who are in flooding areas..... Surely this one would be economical. Don't know about the warranty work, though. It may be time to revive the King Midget (and a smll boat with a small motor) . Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 This one looks pretty roomy....... Sporty..... Stainless steel, anyone??? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Maybe they will re make these...... The Europeans were trying to be economical 30 to 40 years ago. This was American made....the Davis 3 wheeler. But only 12 or 13 were produced as I recall the story. You can even tote a picnic basket with this one...... Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 Here's one for all who are in flooding areas..... Bob, you don't know how close you were on this statement. They used the Wisconsin Ducks to rescue some flood victims near Baraboo, WI. http://www.wisconsinducktours.com/media/Ducks%20Flood%20Rescue%20Release.pdf Quote
hkestes41 Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 Came across this video on Youtube and it made me think of this previous thread. Guess you can make a race car out of anything. Quote
Bodacious Posted December 16, 2008 Report Posted December 16, 2008 The little matching boat is just too cool! Back in the late 60s, when they were still in operation, I went through the Midget Motors factory in Athens Ohio. I've always wanted one to putt around in. Quote
