Found the following at mcmaster. I only need about 6 of these and of course in 2 gauges. So before I buy 200 of these anyone know a source to get less of them?

Flag Ring Terminals

"Flag on a flagpole" design lets you connect your wire at a right angle. Great for tight spaces. These crimp-on terminals are made of tin-plated copper and are rated to 300° F. Voltage ratings don't apply to these noninsulated terminals. UL listed.

Anyone else in for a few? I think I'll order a box of each. With all the mopars around here they will get used eventually :D

I would guess that these are not only more "correct" for stuff like regulator terminals, they are probably made of better, heavier stuff than the Pep Boys blister packs.

Oh oh was just about to place my order and I think these aren't right either. They fit on the correct size gauge wires but only have #8 or #10 stud holes. a #10 is .190 and I meausure 3/8s for the hole on my existing harness.

Gents,

You all need to visit <www.sherco-auto.com> They are in Margete, FL phone number is 954-975-0012. They are the greatest source for wire, any terminal end you can imagihe, plus special tools and AC supplies. I got all my wiring harness materials from them. They also handle some nice waterproof splice connectors for the two halves of your new harness, etc. JMHO:)

wow, here is a blast from the past..... i am recycling the topic title for my own question :)

on the back of some of the terminals (amp and headlight) there are what i will call "double" ring terminal connectors.post-6005-0-84567600-1440001756_thumb.jpg they seem to save space but, i can't seem to find them.

any one know if they are still avalable? or any opinion on "stacking" the terminals vs. the double....

thought about making my own post-6005-0-03479500-1440001783_thumb.jpg but i talked myself out if it

You can contact Rhode Island wiring in Rhode Island. They carry the rings and all connectors that you are looking for and you can buy in small qty's such as 1 to 100 and they are priced according to the number that you purchase.

I have used them several times

Hey nothing like a flashback on your own thread! When I wired my car I believe I used a terminal that had the correct circle for the fastner and then a big enough wire end that both would fit. Twist together crimp and then solder. Trouble free since 2008. If you are patient you can also reuse them.

thanks Rich and Ed, using the larger connector sounds like the ticket!

RI also suggests " Neoprene AFTER the terminal is installed. They are very easy to slide over a terminal with silicone rather than slide it on the bare wire"

glad i asked, not a fan of "stacking" (in this case :D )

Or you can use some heat shrink plastic. Slide the heat shrink on the cloth wire then strip the end so you have bare wire then sodder the wire to the terminal. When not hot then slide the heat shrink over the end of the terminal barrel end then heat with a hair dryer and not you have a factory looking terminal end. In the old days they used a piece of rubber the correct size of the terminal.

I, too, carefully confiscated unusual connectors and repurposed them. Most are soldered together, thus the wire is easily replaced accordingly. Before my garage fire I had a box of old connectors with about three inches of wire on each, I have another box going now.
