Rodney Bullock Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 I took the train to see my Aunt and got the surprize of my life. You know, when you take the train you see the back side of every community between your departure and destination. I saw more junk yards and collector cars in folks back yards then ever before, Deleware has the most. I saw alot of ols iron, thing is how do I determine where it is from a road point of view. There is so much and I tell you the collector car hobby is alive and well. There are alot of folks with cars. They work on them and they keep them up. I saw some tht were covered with tarp and some with nice expensive covers, under car ports and out in the elements. These little junk yards were neat and well kept. I guess I will have to go back and travel the railroad route as it parallels the highway. Oh NY has a few mucle cars but no old antiques. Well, I did not see any this trip. I saw alot however mostly historic stuff, all this after a Funeral. My Aunt has been in Harlem since 1936. She did show me some pic's of their 1953 Mercury, her uncles cosmopolitan. I think they liked Lincoln Mercury because nearly everyone in the parking lot of this pic had these cars. Quote
Don Coatney Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Rodney; In the recent news this train trip from New York to a Washington Hotel has been mentioned. Besides old cars was there any other scenery worth mentioning? Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 They were talking about the Gov-ner all the time I was there:mad: got tired of hearing about it, He had a 22 year old chick big deal:rolleyes: he and his wife were on a break.....weren't they? I understand this guy was a real ball buster. The new gov-ner is a blnd cat:cool: I guess you won't have any problems with him, he can't find the.....girls. When gas gets to 4.00 a gallon all these cats will be thrown out of office:cool: Quote
55 Fargo Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Hey Rodney, I even heard a lot about this up here in the Winnipeg area, and were 1800 miles from NY. Folks just love to chew on this kinda fat, heck I figured some people in high places wanted him out of office, so they can conduct business the way they want too, am I wrong on this. Even was talkng about this with an old time garage owner this morning, this guy is kinda like Fred Sanford, he was shaking his head over the Govenor. Quote
greg g Posted March 15, 2008 Report Posted March 15, 2008 Hoist by his own pitard. Had the Gonernor not been the former Attorney General who had a hollier than thou attitude when it came to morals and laws, and hadn't gone on a big anti prostitution anti racketeering crusade. He probably would have been cut some slack. However, the do as I say and not as I do deal caught him out. Not to mention the money laundering, Mann act violations (transportation of persons across state lines for illegal or imoral activities) and the likely hood of public money was used to finance his hijinks. So morality aside, criminal activity aside, just based on the trust ,integrity, and leadership vacuum created left litttle choice for him. Power corrupts. Just goes to show yuo can't trust anybody in govt above dog warden. My question is 5000 dollars for 10 minutes of activity??????????? Quote

There was one out in either New Mexico or Arizona several years back that was a serial killer who killed women. P.S. Oops, should have said Greg. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 The call girl is 22 years old and a former Jersey Shore resident. The big newspaper down here has been going crazy all week with front-page articles about her....interviewing former teachers and classmates, the whole bit. Spitzer is out, a victim of his own ego. Oh, well. Tripe like this keeps people from being focussed on more pressing political concerns, like our economy. Just my .02 Harold Quote
greg g Posted March 16, 2008 Report Posted March 16, 2008 We go to a trivia contest night at a local tavern on wednesdays. There are usually anywhere from 10 to 25 teams competing. Usually they retain the same names from week to week. We have the libraians, the googelists, the cunning linquists, etc. This week there were some new names, Clients 1 through 8, Mayflower Express, Phone Tappers, and the former luitenant governors. We retained our regular team moniker (Densa Deux [pronounced duhhh]) and upheld our foundation of the league status. Highlight questions this week; Within 25 years what was the year of ST. Patrick's death? What was the given name of the founder of the Guiness Brewery? Correctly spell the well know name of the Irish Walking Stick. within 5 how many traditional counties existed on the island of Ireland? and for 10 points each name the parent companies of the following products; Band aid Ouija Board crasins Jet ski Stock pot Touch tone Windex Kleenex Teflon Ski do Quote

Normspeed Posted March 17, 2008 Report Posted March 17, 2008 Dunno Don. But have you noticed, in the various "hot rod" magazines (no pun intended) that there are tons of full page ads for "enlargement/enhancement" products? Seems like maybe the bigger the motor, the smaller the toolkit...? Quote
Frank Blackstone Posted March 18, 2008 Report Posted March 18, 2008 Rodney Could you have marked the points of interest traveling on the train with a GPS. I guess only if you knew you would need it. Then retrace the trip on the roadway. I see a lot even from a car if I'm a passenger. Surprising and encouraging to know so many are still around. Eagle eye Frank Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted March 18, 2008 Author Report Posted March 18, 2008 Frank, your right, out of the corner of my eye I saw so much, It's like everybody has a project or completed car along the route. I was looking for exits on the bridges and since it was just a 3hour ride these places have to be in a day trip. The junk yards I saw were full of old cars so I am very interested in that, Are there any delaware forum folks out there? Quote
