Fred our last weekend was our 5th largest snowstorm in recorded history. Minneapolis public schools were closed both monday and tuesday. Buses couldn't get around the city streets.

Ha ha. Gonna bring this thread back to life. Not sure if winter is in Manitoba but it is certainly here in Alberta. Cold, wind, snow = MAJOR BLIZZARD. I do believe it is headed Manitoba's way if they do not have it already. However, I have a heated garage and did lots of work on the old '51 Dodge business coupe like welding floors, seam sealing, painting parts, etc. Gotta make the most of what you have. Anyway, all you guys in the warmer climates...................eat your hearts out...........because there's no business like SNOW business............LOL

The Mammoth of all weather threads. No other is as grandiose. Some snow here, some of that weather is heading east toward us, but is watered down compared to what you Guys in Alberta have had. Stay warm, and have fun in the shop. I am going to be doing some work on the 55 again soon too. I just did the outer tie rod ends the other day...PS, this thread will most likely get moved to off topic real quick

I keep forgetting about the Off Topic. Probably where I should have put it but the moderators can do that if so inclined. This thread is fun and I hope it gets added to by others with interest in weather.

Edit.............I see that it has already gone to OT which is where it belongs I guess.

I found these photos on the h.a.m.b. a few years ago and saved them. The '57 had NY plates on it, not to mention that the road looks almost identical to the one I grew up in in the far northeast corner of the state.  I know it isn't a MOPAR, but I had to share this one as it reminds me of up home during the winter months.  Plus the snow blowers were an everyday sight

Rob, it is already moved, yes it's off topic, and yes now it probably won't get much traffic on it. hey went to the beginning, I was a younger man, and Normscoupe, and Norm Carter were on it too.

Times have changed on here, great forum, but does not have the feel it once had with some of the old gang, either dead or moved on....

Love the pics, New York State must be nice in winter...

THIS is a big pile of show. I like snow, but not this much. ;)

Yep, that is BIG. It looks fairly recent as well as the van/truck in the last picture is not that old.

We don't even get snow like that here in Manitoba. My Mother did tell me that they got or seems like they got way more snow back in the 40s and 50s in this area...

Old neighbor has a picture of my father straddling the top wire of the electric service lines back in '58-'59 when all power lines were run on poles. I was 6 or 7 at the time and was pretty sure I could too but wasn't quite brave enough to try it. One lane roads between the snow banks was pretty common then and as recent as the mid 90's. Much less snow now compared to 40-50 years ago.

I remember getting more snow when I was younger too, 30-40 years ago.

No that's not in my area. I don't know where it is. I've had those pictures for a few years. I believe they were emailed to me at one time or another.

A combination of less snow, the way snow is removed melting snow between snow falls etc. My Grandmother used to mention that in the 30s there were some almost no snow winters up here, very dry years too. I have seen the odd green(really brown) Christmases up here, 1 within the last 10 years. Some years with hardly any snow all winter too, that was 2 winters ago here....

Hey, Fred, cool video!..................pun intended. We were nice and brown in Lethbridge until the blizzard hit two days ago. Lots of snow on the ground now and side roads are a mess. Main roads already plowed and sanded.

Your truck is running great! Glad you have an old Mopar to drive! How is the heater? Get bored anytime and post other videos as they are fun to watch.

Here you go, I found this one on the h.a.m.b. awhile ago also.  this photo was taken in Minn if I remember correctly.

I do remember snow backs this high growing up in the late '50's and early 60's.

Just an update on the frigid Great White North. It is -35C which is -31F for the non Celsius crowd. Cold either way. Windchill factor is -45C!! Supposed to moderate some tomorrow but for now it is BC (bloddy cold) as my grandfather used to say. We have been setting record cold temperatures for the last couple of days. I hear we have been sending our wonderful weather as far south as Texas. Always glad to share with our US friends! :P LOL

My daughter recently spent the night in Tok, Alaska.  It was -40. That's minus 40 degrees F and C (use those letters as a descriptor as you see fit).

I spent a year 200 miles north of the Artic Circle while stationed in Alaska in '70 and '71, I know how your daughter felt, it got mighty cold up there and stayed that way along time
