Looks to be a nice find..even surviving a salvage yard is a feat in itself..most time these car even if intact onarrrival get hit while jockeying around other vehicles. This pups looks very much buildable..don't be discougrage when you see floor pan rot..that is common in all the cars of this era..not so hard a fix either. Now my question is..just where in Charleston was this one setting and why have you not gone out on 17 south (just before Tea Farm Creek) and found out what the status is on the 51/52 business coupe I saw there weekend before last as I was driving home?

Looks good. How long was it in the junkyard before you got it? I came home from the hospital in a '52 Cambridge and they are near and dear to my heart. I'm always pleased to see another one saved. The one I have now is a carbon copy of my father's car (long gone), and only 1200 VINs away from it.

thanks for the kind remarks! yes, it runs on idle pretty well but the carb needs rebuilt.

i've begun planning the floorpan/rockr repairs, just need drier weather and sunshine to work in!

that coupe on 17S i think you're referring to is a cobble job at best....somebody simply added metal over the 1/4 windows of a 2dr sedan. very poor job.

i was actually going to look at a Falcon when i found this car; the poor old Falcon was a rust bucket and missing lots of parts, whereas i was told this car was driven into the yard! one spark plug had rusted away in the head and the gas tank was full of varnish, but new plugs and a flush got it running.

replaced the master cylinder last spring, only major investment i have in it!

Some of it probably depends on the local of the yard. My coupe came out of a junkyard. If you look close you can still see where it says sell complete on the rear fender.

Look close and you can see white writing on the rear fender and 1/4 window. Both said sell complete. Car was mostly complete with only a few things taken. Funny it went to the junkyard with only 76K miles.
