Rusty Hope Question

Recommended Posts

Quick question, has anyone bought from Rusty Hope lately?  I've reached out to them about the truck kit a couple times and they haven't responded.  I would like to purchase one, and with many reviews here and elsewhere I trust they are good kits but the lack of response makes me pause.  His site says he is slowing down and others have heard the same.  I'm probably over thinking things but wanted to ask some others if anyone knows if they are still viable.  One other question, anyone know if the kits change the wheel track of the front wheels and if so how much?  Heard it changes it a little but wanted to see if anyone knew how much.  Can't seem to find any measurements.   Thanks!

at the time he was looking for another shop to do the cutting of the plates, that and between material being scarce and many shops having available manpower at time of peak covid....he was experiencing some difficulties with supply.  I am not sure if all this has been resolved....but he did not infer to me when I contacted him yesterday that he was not capable of suppling kits.

Charlie just informed me not more than 3 minutes ago that he sees no incoming new traffic including looking in his spam/junk mail folder.....I have informed him of the actual thread on the forum.....maybe he can connect there....feel like the string in this yo-yo

Rumours of my demise and shutting down are not accurate.  I am still anround and still selling the best Mopar disc brake kits made.  I am no longer stocking all 12 kits, only the 5 that sell the most which covers the majority of ALL cars and trucks from the 30s thru 50s.  I can produce any of the 12, but choose not to stock the ones that seldom sell.  My website, www.rustyhope.com and email, olddaddy@rustyhope.com remain active and the same for the past 28 years.  I’m hard pressed to believe anyone on the face of the earth would have trouble contacting me…….

Wow, thanks for clarifying. rumors have been circulating since the spring, with folks saying things like "you better hurry up and get yours, he's shutting down and selling off what's left!"

Just shows how fake news spreads.....

My OEM drum brakes work great, but I'd still like to get a disc kit one of these days just to have (before you shut down, haha).

“fake news” that is my fault John.

I think you were caught in the conversation Jim and I were having at the BBQ. Where I was telling Jim I read on the old Rusty Hope website (in April of this year) it was a hobby for him and once they are gone…. no more (Glad Los_control saw the same thing)

Sorry you did not check out the website at the time to confirm the “news”😝

The website has since, been updated. So……. it never happened 😀

Charlie was trying to sell the business at one time and slip a bit closer to enjoying some "ME" time but as with majority of all folks today, life seems to always get in the way....and yes at one time at the height of Covid I think his suppliers wee drying up due to work force issues and straining the supply chain....seems this has all been resolved for NOW....who know the what and when of the next world crisis.

I'll never forget my time at a wrecking yard I called in to pick up a part .... I drove 1 hour & got there and they were just going to lunch .... I had to come back after lunch.

Then it took another hour for them to go pull the part and deliver it .....

After 3 hours of this waiting game I was frustrated ..... I was laying into the poor lady clerk ..... Gawd Dang it, I'm retired!!! ..... I dont have time to sit around here all day to get a part!

She busted out laughing and that made me laugh and I felt better   :)

Haha, I forgot where the rumors originated from but if you want to throw yourself under the bus, that's cool. 😹
