Thanksgiving  wishes to you and yours.  My Mopar will get a bath, 5gallons of non eth, some stabilizer,  get hooked to the battery tender, and get snuggled under its cover for the winter.  Garage will get several d con feeders.  Got some really stinky fabric softener sheets from dollar tree. Don't know if they work but for a buck and a quarter why not?

Only put 1500 miles on this year so am on the fence about doing an oil change now or in the spring.

Thanks, I help mums with the cooking and prepping during the prep of the meal when she needs that third hand.  I only do two things from start to finish, baking of a couple pies, this year they are raisin pies and I then cut up some fresh fruit to blend with the starter can of fruit cocktail.  Both my tasks are completed, and I just basted the bird....as it is a few hours to time to dig in, I sampled one of the pies with a hot cup of coffee.....off to a good start.

I didn’t want turkey for the 34th year in a row so today I’m smoking pastrami on the Weber. I’m going to make some German potato salad later.

We’re not up to traveling to see the kids, so it’s just me and the wife this year, unless someone bothers to stop by.

All the kids and grandkids are in Visalia so we may only see one or two of them.

Thanksgiving went well yesterday. My wife and I had our first Thanksgiving alone at home in our 43 year marriage. She broke her femur and had surgery to repair it about a month ago, so we weren't up to the usual big family get together at my sisters. I made the trip to my sisters, about 25 miles away, and picked up to-go type meals for my wife and I. They wanted to deliver, but they already had other meals to deliver to others unable to attend. We are now to a point where my wife can manage alone for a couple hours at a time, so I said no, I'll come and get it. I visited family for an hour or so, then home to reheat everything in the oven and have dinner with my wife. It was very good too.  Now today, my daughter, 20 month old grandson and their dog, are coming to stay a couple days while the son-in-law goes to deer camp. I can't wait to see them all. They were here for a quick day visit a couple weeks ago, but we normally spent about 10 days a month at their house babysitting before my gall bladder went south in August and then the wife's injury just as we were scheduled to get back to the routine. October and November are typically my two biggest old car driving months as I love to cruise around late in the fall. This year had none of that. Still thankful for what we have together!

As usual, mums pulled another fantastic feast together and all was on the table at the minute she said it would be.  Son and family and a good friend in attendance and after the meal, we all sat about the fire pit on the patio enjoying a warm fire.  While not cold, there was a bit of a nip in the air and how they had room for toasted marshmallows I do not understand.   The two grandkids were a hoot and a half running about.  This morning, doing what I do best, drinking coffee and looking ugly plus killing a few rolls and some turkey.   Most enjoyable holiday for sure.
