First start up of my rebuilt engine. I’ve wrenched on these old Mopars for almost 50 years but this was my first attempt at rebuilding an engine. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions.

Excellent news! Congratulations.
I’d love to hear more details on the intial start up.  Did you build up oil pressure? Static timing only? Hook everything up before firing it up? Is it idling well? I’d love to to hear the juicy details.

Keith, yes to the above. I did have the distributor 180 out but after fixing that it fired right up. After some warm up I readjusted the valves and tweaked the timing and now it’s idling smoothly. I tried posting a video but apparently it’s too large. Watching your videos inspired me to try so much thanks! The engine is a 1958 truck engine that had been installed in a 51 Coronet. It will eventually go into my 52 Coronet.

You don't post a video here.  You post your video on Youtube.  Then you copy the URL and post the URL here, so we can see your video.  I  just started my engine too and have posted several videos of my work on it.

Post videos on YouTube then attach  a link to the YouTube video may work.

Or just email me the video, I'll put it on my youtube channel and send you the link.  I've done it for members before.
