I watched a few videos on adding turn signals to our trucks. I want to use the front running lights as the front markers and the back tail light plus one I’ll add for the rear. The rear should not be a problem but the front would need a separate circuit for each lamp. I did some testing and they appear to be on one circuit split at front of the wiring harness. There is a terminal on the light switch which has come off that appears to be controlling those running lights. Question 1 how do I remove the light switch if I need to reconnect the terminal?  Question 2 has anyone this conversion and can share a few tips?

I'm at work or I'd look at the wiring harness myself, but how are they grounded? If you can run the ground side to your turn switch and then through a flasher, it won't care. As I recall from fixing my switch, the terminals push into a female connection on the switch. Maybe it just pulled loose. It's been quite awhile since I looked at that though. Is there a round "bullet" on the end of the wire?

My truck is a later model, but I used a Signal Stat 900 turn signal switch. It has separate outputs for the front and rear turn signal lamps. The brake light switch also inputs into the switch to activate the rear lamps as brake lights when the signals are not in use. When the switch is moved to either left or right turn position the flasher will then supply power to the. Selected lamps and the remaining rear lamp will still be connected to the brake light switch.

I also used my front parking lamps for turn signals. To do that I had to change the bulb socket for a dual element type. That way I can still use the park lamps as designed and the brighter part of the bulb works as the turn signal.

A 40 Plymouth has tiny parking lights on top of the headlight bucket. As far as I know your options are to not have front parking lights(this is what I'm currently doing on my 46) or buy aftermarket little lights for the top that I think can be both. Possibly because they are LED. As far as the headlight switch there is a tiny slot in the bottom of the knob that you put a screwdriver or small blade in to release. Then the little chrome bezel will unscrew.

There 2 wires going to the head lights and one to the parking light. I believe the parking light uses the same ground as the head lights. It’s been awhile since I took it apart. The wiring diagram just so 3 wires to the headlight buckets.

I’ll see if I can press the terminal back on but I’m skeptical. At least it’s on the easier side to reach.

Not sure what you mean by a round bullet.

Found the slot and will see if it comes off. Is there a way to get the choke knob off?  It doesn’t have a slot. I’m having trouble keeping the little attachment bezel on.

The choke and throttle cables have a nut from the backside. I believe 5/8 and they are kinda a pain as they are recessed some in the back of the dash

There is a threaded end of the cable with a washer on the back of the dash. The unit is held on with the chrome bezel that is supposed to hold it in place but I can’t get enough bite so I want to remove the washer but I need to remove the knob.

For choke and throttle the knob doesn't come off. It's part of the inner cable. Even if you pulled the entire inner cable out you still need to get that nut off the backside

Two wires to the headlights are low beam and high beam, and then the one wire for the parking lamps. All lights are grounded through their mounts to the body. The headlights might have a 3rd wire for the ground, but it likely goes to back to a ground screw on the body.

I wired in my front lights, adding relays.

they  come on with key, and blink off with signal activated. Interesting thing is the opposite light goes off when braking. Its an old signal-stat switch that only controlled rear lights.
