I believe The fitting you have is supposed to be threaded into the filter if you don’t have or want to use a different filter set up, the carb kits come with a female fitting or you can buy the separate at places like https://www.carburetor-parts.com/search.asp?keyword=Dte2+ or try Napa ? I use inverted flared tube nut for 5/16” tube 1/2x20 thread from the pump to the filter 1 Quote
wallytoo Posted March 4, 2022 Report Posted March 4, 2022 just as brent notes, the glass bowl filter attaches to that fitting, and the fuel line attaches to the filter inlet. Quote
Sniper Posted March 4, 2022 Report Posted March 4, 2022 (edited) The fitting that screws into the carb is a special one that holds the needle valve. You can't just use any old fitting there. Page two of the parts listing shows the numbers https://carburetion.walkerproducts.com/carter/carter-carburetor-kit-1bbl-bb/ They also come in rebuild kits. Edited March 4, 2022 by Sniper 1 Quote

From that you can adapt to 1/4 or 5/16” inverted flare for your steel line. Quote
