Plan to rebuild front end on my 1.5 ton soon. Have several options, remove springs and drag link from truck and do on shop floor or rebuild under fenders. Would like to hear from those that have worked on them. Are front hangers, hardware and spring pins available? I have not located kin pins/ bushings or cups to date. Napa said bring parts in and maybe match? This is the same people that can’t find parts that go back before 1960 so I am a little leary. Are there good methods to remove spring pins or will I most likely be cutting them out? Just trying to see my obstacles before I dive in. I have a torch, big hammers, a lathe (no press), and a lot of patience.

ESPO Spring should have the pins and bushings and likely the shackle pins too.   I'd look for a white haired guy at NAPA or a machinist to match up the king pins.  They can order by dimension not just application.   Good luck!

I wasn't able to find any replacement pins that hold the leaf springs to the frame(but didnt know of the source listed above), and for bushings I ended up finding oil-infused bronze bushings and turned them down(or opened up) to fit in the leaf springs.  I had to use a press to remove the bushings using a tool I made since its questionable to heat springs to remove the bushings.  I was lucky many of the spring pins were in decent shape and cleaned up well.

if need be I could find the bushing part numbers I used and share.

Does anyone have the WH series 40 part number for the king pin set? I see some sets with shims, bearing, washer , cups etc… that are complete. Pretty sure my door tag is stamped WF but the front axle has (2) pins and also had larger tie rod that matched WH.I am tearing down now, don’t have the king pin out yet. Starting on the left drivers side because I figured that would be the tough side. Also wanted to know if I need to remove the steering knuckle arm? I have soaking but did not remove yet.

If your truck is a WH...

King pin set # is 1243609.

Pin diameter is 1.130" X 7.250" long

Shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Perfect— thanks guys. I called Napa, gave them the dim’s and mopar kit number. Waiting on a call back. I do see those on eBay but no longer have an account. Again, Thank you all—Kevin

AMS obsolete has it as does Deception Pass Motor Parts.

The kit Brent shows on Ebay will most likely be the absolute best price..

Too bad you cannot snag that.

Got a gift today thanks to you guys! Question to Dodgeb4ya—how are you getting the part numbers for assemblies? I guess I don’t understand the parts manual enough. Or I guess I should ask what page it’s on? Your number is correct, just hate asking questions. As always, thank you Kevin

look at the 2nd attachment bill posted above.  the kingpin set is listed about 1/2 way down the left side column (package - mopar).  bob (dodgeb4ya) has a lot of reference books / parts books for vintage mopars.

Ok— I was not looking at the correct page in the parts manual. Trying to figure this out while resources are available. Thanks for your help! Now time to get the pins out.
