allbizz49 Posted May 15, 2021 Report Posted May 15, 2021 00 steel wool will clean water spots no problem. That's what I use followed up with Amsoil foam glass cleaner. Windex or whatever glass cleaner you have will work just fine. Quote
Sniper Posted May 15, 2021 Report Posted May 15, 2021 Original formula Bon Ami with feldspar only for tougher stains, vinegar and water spray for lighter stains. https://www.bonami.com/faq/ Bon Ami Powder Cleanser (gold label) is not recommended for windows, mirrors, or other glass surfaces. However, Bon Ami 1886 Original Formula Cleaning Powder (red can) IS recommended for windows, mirrors, glass-ceramic cooktops, vintage auto windshields (not modern windshields which often have coatings), shower and oven doors, other non-decorative glass surfaces, and many other hard surfaces. 1 Quote
greg g Posted May 15, 2021 Report Posted May 15, 2021 Have used bon ami for years for glass, stainless, and oxidized paint with great success. There is also bartenders friend which is also feldspar based. They both have newer formulas, so make sure you read the label and avoid the ones with silica or aluminum oxide.. It can be messy but they both well. Great for the whole exterior especially if you are trying to save thin original paint without burning through with rubbing compound. Works to clean and burnish the patina look if you are into that look. Quote
Booger Posted May 15, 2021 Report Posted May 15, 2021 Bon ami is old school! Hey Mom can I go out and play? My mother wore an apron like June Cleaver. 1 Quote
