James_Douglas Posted May 3, 2021 Report Posted May 3, 2021 Anyone have any photos from all angles on both sides of a successful firewall mount M/C with a booster? I hit the search and what I came up with was not what I need. I am thinking of doing that on my 1947 Desoto. Best, James Quote
ACJCF2 Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 2000 Jeep Cherokee and master on my 1949 Coronet. Got the pedal out of a 1996 automatic Cherokee. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted August 19, 2021 Report Posted August 19, 2021 is this an automatic transplant also as the clutch is not shown if still original configuration on the frame or just no longer necessary. Barely see the top of the loud pedal. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted August 19, 2021 Report Posted August 19, 2021 I was just curious.....as with the swing arm offset to the clutch side and the fact if it was later curved back in to miss the clutch pedal (detail not shown) you would still have interference with the column based solely on the position of the original steering column as it passed through the floor. I corrected a build such as this and these were the very findings...... Quote
wagoneer Posted August 19, 2021 Report Posted August 19, 2021 46-48 imperials have brake boosters. I have never seen one myself but they have to be out there somewhere. Wonder if there are any NOS ones . They should bolt right in to our 46-48s Quote
Bryan G Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 I can say that the factory booster on my '49 New Yorker is mounted under the floor below the driver's seat and I'm pretty sure there is a "relief" made into the floor to allow clearance. There is also the matter of plumbing a return line back into the master cylinder, something I haven't fully studied yet. (Neither my old MC or the replacement seem to have any such provisions-the unit was disconnected long ago.) Not sure if the older cars used a different setup? Quote
