plymouthcranbrook Posted February 5, 2021 Report Posted February 5, 2021 I know this yard seems to have somewhat newer cars than we are concentrated on but thought some might be interested in the info. Not a terribly long way from me but I have never been there. https://www.dodgegarage.com/news/article/gallery/2021/01/mo-par-city-is-closing-its-doors-after-50-years.html Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 5, 2021 Report Posted February 5, 2021 all it takes is some big money to step in and move the lot to his place....it is only lost because no one stepped up....I hate to see this stuff go...but you cannot expect one guy to work forever....he deserves to retire just as the cars in his facility did years ago.....I bet he will not let it go at this time for what he will get for scrap later.....but then when the scrappers arrive...there is no overhead to pull, mark store, package and ship pieces...they kinda get lumped together and shipped bulk. 1 Quote
Frank Elder Posted February 6, 2021 Report Posted February 6, 2021 Buy them or they will go to the crusher........threaten me with the destruction of some rusty lump that never belonged to me in the first place....you can’t save them all. give me thousands of dollars for this junk car or I will sell it for 300 scrap, that hurts me how? I don’t get it. 2 Quote
Veemoney Posted February 6, 2021 Report Posted February 6, 2021 I wouldn't mind doing a walkdown and some treasure hunting there as well. Checked their website and e-bay store. Prices listed on the Bay were on the high side but all did have "or best offer" included on the auctions. Just didn't see anything I needed that bad right now. He probably knows where every car or part is located right down to pieces of trim. At 80 years old I would agree he should pass it on and enjoy the retired life but then he has the perfect setup to do what a lot of retired folks do. Find a couple cars to restore, locate some parts and join a forum ? 1 Quote

P. and benefit the hobby....but also true is the following, man could give a car to a guy and that guy would complain of the cost and time and most all the logistics of travel retrieval and such especially if they had to be moved by X date......they say a lady knows when to exit....well a man knows when to bail...I wish him the best and obviously he has served the hobby well over the years. Guess I am just tired of folks venting on what other folks should do with an old car or car part but in the end do nothing to save that part/car themselves....last check, they still his property. 1 Quote
RUST OR BUST Posted February 7, 2021 Report Posted February 7, 2021 This guy is kind of a jerk. And was always way overpriced. Most of these cars are rotting away because of it. I was there years ago, his idea of a rust free quarter panel had a baseball sized rust hole in the center of it. He does still have some pretty valuable and desireable items though. I havent seen it personally, but he supposedly has the last superbird shell that was never painted off the assembly line. Quote
